the amount of stuff sent would be quite enormous.
From a dev point of view, an enormous amount of data would be a good thing. The only problem I see is that creating such a survey would probably require a lot of dev time, which is not cheap.

I agree. They should definately put in an uploag feature, but it MUST be optional. For now, all you can do is just turn off your internet connection, but I THINK that involuntary uploads miiiiiiiight actually be illegal. Only time will tell.......

You have a VERY optimistic view of scoiety, Shadow. I was estimating more like 7 hours.
How do you figure you're advancing intellect here?
Maybe because homophobia is a serious problem in most (if not all) countries. Maybe because by ingaging in phiolosophical discussions people can learn to improve themselves. Maybe because uninformed people could read this thread and come away knowing a little more than they used to about life, tolerance, psychology, politics, or simple decency.

My physics class is in room 204, near the wood shop. Why we do physics in a converted saw room, I have no idea.

Indeed. Just telling everyone to ignore something won't make it go away or be accepted by weveryone. It would be like somebody saying "ok, let's all just pretend that everyone in America is white." (which would probably get you in trouble for being racist.)
Lesson being, don't judge anyone for what they are but for what they DO.
Have to correct you there: who you are IS what you do, and it has very little to do with how you look.

If everybody obeyed the law, there would be no need for police. However, it is patently rediculous to assume that everyone will do the right thing, so don't assume they will.
a sovereign rulling his people without giving them any choice in the matter really shouldn't be rated in "popularity" by his subjects because the context makes no sense)
Not necessarily. If they consider him/her a "beneviolent dictator" they are going to go above and beyond the call of duty to serve him/her, and will be less likely to beray him/her or rebel.

Although I've never played IVAN, I think that this is more of an example of a bad event than a problem with the findamental coding. Also, if you wanted to, you could just have the program decide a few turns in advance to do the event, so that it would be carried into the save without being non-random.

I would hardly agree with that: if the events were programmed to appear when specific conditions were met, they would always show up no matter how many times you re-loaded.

Looks good. I think that some factions would be more likely to ally with a Feared player, and others more likely to ally with a Popular player.
