Is anyone here a practitioner of BJJ or Krav Maga (or any other fighting style)? Why do you like the style that you like? If given a chance, would you try another discipline? Any advice for a newbie? I want to pick a discipline and engage in it for fun, sport and self-defense. Not looking to become a 90th degree black belt, able to split logs with my eyelids :).
Dota 2 is the perma #1 played game on Steam, typically with 3-500,000 players. These numbers don't even track Chinese players of the game (where it is wildly popular but doesn't use the Steam client) so it will easily be close to 1 million players at any given time. This is more than all the other games on the Steam stats lists combined. LoL has even more players I believe. Mods help extend the life of SP games (like Skyrim) and som

The games that I see that last forever (CounterStrike, NeverWinter Nights, Baldur's Gate) do have multiplayer, but also have modding. How can you be sure in your assertion that multiplayer is 'almost necessary in any symmetric game'? In what way is it n
It's looking great cardinal. Thanks for spear-heading this.
I was playing on the easiest level when I was attacked. That said, I have defeated outposts and taken them over with monsters within the ZoC and they did NOT attack the outpost or the resource, so that part I can see with respect to Wardell's claim.
Thanks Darxim. Regarding points two and three, I am glad I am not the only one seeing them. Thanks again for sharing the knowledge.
Playing the latest version of LH with the latest loot DLC. I experienced to annoying things with this playthrough (playing on the lowest difficulty). 1)Was playing with Relias, who had a poisoned sword via a poison sac. I was fighting a troll army. I whittled the troll's health down to one using a variety of ways. Being cruel, I passed on all my turns, waiting for his turn to come around so that he could die from poisonin
DrJBHL, another really terrible one is the "easylifeapp", it has all the characteristics of what you describe in your OP. I have tried to remove this "malware" unsuccessfully. It came on a download when I was looking for educational planetary orbital software on a false link. I reset my threads in firefox yet cannot find a way to move it from being the primary page when I click on the "add new page" tab at the top
I felt the same for the longest time. Recently I have begun playing on ICO with Sacrifice of Angels 2 enthusiasts. The game is totally different when you play against other human beings. I understand you're misgivings because they were also mine. It also helps to be a little giving of yourself. In your time and knowledge and experience as well. Like any human to human interaction there is give and t
This post is not to slam multiplayer, but to ask if others think it is as large a component of sales and longevity of games as some seem to think. I am a single player person. I like playing games by myself. Even when I played with on my PS360, I played alone. I play by myself because (I'll list a couple of internal reasons): -I play for fun, not for bragging rights. Maybe I'm weird, but having the highest score (or whatever
Cool Doc. I'll do a little bit more nosing around. Thanks :).
Thanks for the helpful tips, as usual, Doc. Question for you:what do you know about IOBit as a company? I sued to use Advanced System Care until I began to hear whispers about unethical practices and it's connection to China (I am not trying to impugn all Chinese software, but I do feel country of origin is important...even software from the US can be suspect). I found this article- htt

Excellent game, I'll wait it on steam...and panzer command etc.
My understanding (please confirm for yourself though) is that if/when it is released on Steam, Desura will issue you a Steam key.

Amazon is having an End of Summer PC game sale, with a good variety of selection. The sale lasts until Sept 8th. As I peruse the offerings, I will add games that I have heard various board members talking about- StarDrive is selling for $15. The latest Tomb Raider is $15.
I found this game on PC Gamer via Steam. As PC Gamer so aptly noted, it might be hard to find more info on this game by simply googling 'Enemy' so I am posting some (links to) videos here. Here is a video on the lighting. http://vimeo.com/67188003 Here is a video of his vision http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/02/20/
Turn based rogue-like, with an 8 bit art style. http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/08/28/enemy-development-update-details-the-turn-based-roguelikes-campaign-overworld/ It looks pretty good; different. I can't wait to see how the different worlds blend together to create this experience. I think I will be buying this when it i

I own a copy of LH on my pc at home. I would like to purchase a separate copy and downloaded on another machine at a different location. Will I have to establish a separate account? Or will I be ok? (I haven't played in almost a month and am away from home) Thanks!
<

http://www.engadget.com/2013/08/20/eas-origin-store-now-allows-returns-downloaded-games/ This could potentially change my opinion of EA as a company (I still won't be buying COD though :) ).
