Photoshop CS with a Wacom Stylus and Tablet are top of the line. Best bang for you $$$$ is Paint Shop Pro 8, again with a Stylus. Illustrator and Freehand can turn out 'different' styles and cand be crosslinked to Photoshop and Fireworks. Painter 8 and a stylus work very well for an 'arty' style. I'm not very impressed by PhotoImpact to be honest .... There are some decent package deal

System Restore? That is what it's there for. Once you have it sorted you can create a new restore point and delete the rest, they tend to clutter up the HS. And set your swap file at a fixed size, depending on the RAM installed the rule of thumb was/is 2.5 times RAM = maximim/minimum swap file setting.
