Economy Lost 63,000 Jobs in February
The economy shed 63,000 jobs in February, the government said on Friday, the fastest falloff in five years and the strongest evidence yet that the nation is headed toward — or may already be in — a recession. Manufacturers and construction companies, reeling from the worst housing slump in decades, led the declines in payrolls. But the losses were spread across a broad range of businesses — including department stores, offices and retail out
Are Obama supporters such losers that they believe this man will somehow magically "change" their lives for the better if elected?
That's the way to open it up for debate! :CONGRAT:
Neo-conservatism has nothing to do with being radical. A neo-con is one that used to be a liberal and has grown up, switched sides, becoming a traitor to the one true religion of ignorance.
I don't think Bush has ever been a liberal but he's the head neocon right now. Neocon policies are radical: agressive forign policies without prudent planning or execution, out of control spending with massive debt... those are radical policies.
Foreclosures reached an all-time high during the fourth quarter of last year as the mortgage crisis worsened, according to Mortgage Bankers Association data released today. During the quarter, 2.04 percent of all outstanding mortgages were in foreclosure, and .83 percent of loans entered the foreclosure process, according to the report. A year earlier, just 1.19 percent of loans were in foreclosure.
This is what happens when the government deregulates industries. In the 8

I did a search for this and came up with nothing. I believe this topic is based either on misinformation or misunderstanding. Here is something I found on Obama and the student loan problem:
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Sen. Barack Obama, a U.S. presidential candidate, said on Tuesday he backs centralizing federal loans for college students under the government and ending federally guaranteed bank loans for them. The bank loans program is a lucrative business for many financia

For me, the Buddha's teachings are all about learning how to practice. And that's a never ending process if we want to eliminate suffering in our lives.

Some people abuse the system and borrow far more than they should. I've heard of people owing over $100,000 when they're done! I don't feel sorry for them in the least.
Benmeistercomment 23A few things about outsourcing... When jobs go overseas, the money to pay those workers flows out of the country and doesn’t come back. When jobs are created domestically, the money to pay those workers is put back into our economy. We had a somewhat protectionist economy until Reagan did away will almost all the tariffs. Because of that, it’s more difficult for US companies to compete globally – thus the need to outsource jobs. All very true. However, if my custom
Ben: The thing is, college is accessible for most people. I have a college education and we were poor as hell. I got a combination of Scholarships, Pell Grants, and Student Loans. No, going to Harvard was probably never a choice for me, but education is pretty accessible. I don't agree that more needs to be done.
The toughest part about affording college is living expenses. I went to college during the early 90s when the cost of living was extremely low. I was only paying
I earn 3 apples a week. Each week, I pay 2 of those apples to employees. However, some politician thinks it's not fair that I have 3 apples whereas most people only have 1 apple or less. Therefore, they raise taxes. Now, I earn 3 apples a week. The government takes one of those apples to give to someone else. Now I only have 2 apples left. Since I still need an apple for myself, I have to fire one of my employees because the apple I had for him has been taken by the government an

There's nothing wrong with people getting rich, but there IS something wrong with a system where Warren Buffet pays a lower tax rate than his secretary -- especially at a time when the government is racking up massive debt.

If you move far enough in either direction from the center, you wind up in the same place: at something resembling fascism. The opposite of conservative is not liberal -- it’s radical, and the right wing equivalent of liberal is neo-conservative.

Well, from a conservative point of view, a college education is one of the best investments the government can make. People who have a Bachelor's Degree or higher earn far more than those who don't and therefore pay far more in taxes. The cost of an education has become exorbitant and out of reach for many who might otherwise pursue it. Something needs to be done to make education more affordible. I don't know what Obama said about it, but if the government should definit
