I primarily play the AI so LRM spam isn't really an issue for me, but a simple remedy would be to put LRM's into a higher tech tier. Put them in the HC/Cielo tier (#5) and peoples priorities might change when confronted with the high investment in logistics and commodities required to acquire them.
Dunov+Kol is a horrible combo, stop using it.Dunov is only good with two of them. It's useless with one, great with two. They're fragile as glass and can't defend themselves, but with two they can spam sheild on each other (especially with flux. zomgs.)Kol+Dunov.. Uhh yeah this works great against newbs that don't know to kill the Dunov first.Kol is good as it's a good solo cap, and tec caps generally aren't worth making more than two, or one even. The Sova has nice with it's ability to cl
I use all the TEC ships, just emphasize Marzas because "This is how space junk is born" lol and "I got a present for ya" Plus they sorta remind me of Millenium Falcon. Cool looking and fun to play.
Marza does have the Millenium Falcon look to it. Kol reminds me off the Warlock class ships from Babylon 5.

Culture aids each race in a particular fashion in addition to the obvious influence aspect. TEC culture adds to antimatter regeneration iirc which helps when you are defending your own territory from attack. If you play AI on smaller maps, then I really wouldn't bother as it rarely if ever will alter the outcome of your game. In MP thats a different story as any edge you can get over a human opponent is a good thing. Deliverance engine expands your sphere of influence allowing you to re

As a TEC player, I have to go with the Kol as it is the only "combat" rated Cap ship that they have. Everything else for all intents and purposes is support. The Vasari have three "combat" rated Cap ships (Devastator,Marauder,Desolator) which kind of gives them an advantage qualitatively. After mixing and matching Cap ships in different battles, I have come to the conclusion that I prefer the straight knockout ability of the Kol over any perks the others might offer. So now I just use 3-4 Kols i
Basically, you build a total of 3 sovas and 6 perchons in the escort strike force. 2 of the sovas build nothing but bombers and the other has nothing but fighters. The pecherons are also nothing but fighters. The TEC's carriers have a total of 7 squads and so that gives you a total of 14 bomber wings and 13 fighter wings. The TEC makes up for in quantity what you don't get in heavy damage, as you can send 2 targets on opposite sides of the gravity well a very fancy present that they won't
I'll never understand why the Akkan's ion bolt was nerfed. It was borderline useless in the first place (only good for knocking ships out of phase jump), and now they upped the recharge to the point where you might not even be able to do that consecutively. Colonize is a novelty skill, and the uplink ability is half-useless as there's no accuracy in the game. Sometimes I just wonder what they were thinking.Also... Dunov, bad? Shield recharge? Cheaper abilities? Antimatter burn + AoE damag

1. Can you enable/disable an ability of a group of Cap ships that are of the same type with one keystroke or mouse click? 2. Can you group fire the same ability of a group of same type Cap ships? In other words, if I have 5 Kols, can I make all 5 fire their rail guns at one ship simultaneously? 3. If the above question is affirmative, then would group firing five Akkans (Ion bolts) produce a stacking effect in terms of disable duration? Thanks in advance for any insigh

I too agree with Jotanhorn. TEC carrier abilities are vastly underrated. Heavy Fighters + Targeting Uplink + Designate Target = Bad news . Heavy Manufacturing + Dunov's magnetize ability = More bad news.
@Reply on TEC using Flak to counter disparity with strikecraft,That's why Fighters and Bombers shouldn't be launched until enemy Flak has been suppressed by an attack from Light Frigates or Long-Range Frigates penetrating the front line. Flak rarely exists in large numbers unless the enemy knows you're deploying a carrier fleet, so good counter-intelligence(i.e, killing enemy scouts ASAP when they try to pass any kind of 'choke point') combined with a healthy complement of Light Frigates
PeskyFly,I have to diagree with your assesment...The Kol is a capital ship. Capital ships are NOT 'advanced warships'. They do not need to be researched - they only need crews. And unlike other ships that can only get bonuses and new abilities from research, capital ships get that stuff from simply surviving through enough battles. What I meant by 'advanced warships' are cruisers, LR frigates and flak frigates. They're weaker than their Advent and Vasari analogs and more so with technolog
I've become a huge fan of the Akkan cruiser over the past week or so. I think the "colonizing ability is a tad overrated, but the "targeting uplink" makes the ship worthwhile in and of itself imo. By the time I get my 2nd Cap ship (Kol) my targetting uplink on the Akkan is usually maxed out. Hitting what I aim at is of utmost importance to me as well as extending my weapons range.I could be wrong, but I dont believe that the targetting uplink helps your Kol hit things. Isn't your chance t

PeskyFly, I have to diagree with your assesment. Firstly, their is only a perceived advantage with regard to the Advent/Vasari vs TEC advanced warships. IMO, the Kol is the best "overall" Cap ship in the game. 1. Kol armor is second only to Vasari Drednaught. With advanced armor research it becomes the most heavily fortified ship in the game. 2. It has a 360 degree firing arc allowing it to literally fly into the center of an enemy battle group and do heavy damage. Thr

I agree with Innociv's evaluation of massed lrms. They are highly overrated. As a TEC player I rarely use more than 15 LRM's in any fleet that I build. They are just for a little long range fire support. The resources spent ammassing a large LRM fleet could be better spent fielding a heavily researched/high powered mixed fleet, that can take on any race. I put my cash into maxing out ballistics/lasers,armor,and increased Cap ship maneuvreability. One good way to beat massed anything in this gam
