http://www.demigodthegame.com/opengames.asp Here's some info about the current server usage. The game is pretty well populated. You'll notice the Skirmish/Pantheon queue is usually empty. This is a good thing. This means there aren't many people sitting around in queue waiting for a game to begin... they are all actually playing. If you look at the "games in progress" you'll see there are plenty of

IT is extremely odd.
pretty awesome idea.
If you look in the upper right corner it will tell you how many other players are currently looking for Pantheon matches. You'll discover that it's not many. Usually between 3 and 6. The most I've EVER seen is 9. When your pool is 3-9, it can be difficult to find 4 or 6 evenly matched players. It generally does pretty well with what it can. For example, if 2 good players and 2 new players are looking for a game it will split the good players up rather tha
I think there should be different levels of "sanctioning" so that SOME mods are allowed in Competetive play. My main issue with competetive demigod right now are some certain interface issues. The UI seems very amenable to modding... and I think it would be worthwhile to allow UI mods in Pantheon and Skirmish. That way competetive players can really adjust the UI to their personal preference. IT will be impossible for GPG to accomodate
also... + some UI adjustments (though the MOD strategy should take care of this) + Better Social Networking in Game and in Impulse (not really 1.2 territory) so basically: Replays
I like the idea of AI demigods that replace dropped players not providing gold/XP. Any opinions on that?
It would penalize the team that didn't have droppers. Which is unfair. There's really no way to accomodate a team when a player drops. They're just going to lose. It sucks, but that's what happens when people drop in the middle of a game. That's what happens when a player drops in a Starc
Quite good. novel and creative.
i like the idea of putting "Premade" in the server title.
I know custom games are, atm, best suited for premade teams, but they are also the source for the best connections and options. If I want to play Cataract 3vs3, I can't specify that in the other modes so I have to go to a custom game that matches my criteria.
This is a convincing argument. (your post came up while i was typing my reply to post #2). So it looks like both sides can do more to communicate. But the point remains
no, i disagree. If we are following the normal appropriate channels to do what we do it shouldn't be our responsibility to advertise. It should be your job to inquire. If you don't want to play with a premade you have plenty of other places to go. The premade team has no other options. It has nothing to do with getting kicks off stomping a bunch of random playes. The team shouldn't be obligated to apologize or advertise th
I just want to point out that Custom Games are where Premade Teams go to Play. There's nothing wrong with Premade teams in custom games. They are following the proper channels and playing in the appropriate place. If you are joining a custom game, you should be aware that the other people in that game may be/probably are a premade team. Don't be surprised when the enemy team coordinates well together. If you do not want to want to play with a premade team,
I hate to sound like a jerk, but there's no mention of Replays anywhere here. Is replay functionality going to be included in Demigod at any point soon? This seems kind of essential. EDIT: I see that he mentioned replays now (sorry for missing it) But post v1.1? No timeframe? It REALLY is essential.
that's hilarious
furthermore, if you're playing on "normal speed," the game will only slow down if someones simspeed drops to negative. A sim speed of 1/0 will not effect the game.
Replays!!! when they weren't in the initial release they said "soon." I took that to mean 2-3 weeks at most. They are kind of a mission critical feature.
the game DOES inform you when the options have changed after you join. But no, it doesn't tell you if there are non-default options set when you join. It's good to get in the habit of checking.
i think minion pathing, targetting, and general AI could be improved substantially. This may be part of the "Command Queuing" that they've been working on.
plenty of people playing. social newtowrking in Impulse sucks... will be fixed over time.
i concur... happens MOST times. Frogboy says if people are having connection issue it's mostly likely a problem on their end. Is it possible that 25% of players are having these issues?
If Stardock didn't develop the netcode, then who did? And why didn't they bust their rumps to fix it?
I believe this may be coming shortly.
So to clarify you have to be in range to recieve gold?
