I have the same thing happening now - see below...and for me changing the viewing style does not change it - other than list it rather then thumbnail.

Oh man - I have GOT to get me one of those!! I like how you think!
Insert comment here: Being new - are you sure we are supposed to write the "First thing" that pops into our mind. If I do - I could have the shortest membership in history! End of comment. Now back you our regularly scheduled game...
Lets not forget the "Clapper" - brilliant acting I must say!
Hey Gideon - I have and do use Linux - heck I use all of them - it really is hard to compare one to another - hardware makes such a difference - as well as what you do with your computer - business apps or really getting behind the curtain as to what makes this thing tick. I guess my position on all this is use what you like - and as long as it is done in fun then fight for your brand...have fun with it...and at the end of the day...it really is just a computer. <img src="smiles/Wink.
I got into building mine too and overclocking - I still have the first one I built - OC'd the AMD Thunderbird - problem is when I start it up - the house lights dim, the windows rattle and the neighbors run outside to see where the jet is landing...too many fans me thinks! I love it though - well - what I can remember of it - old here too!
So lets digress - this thread started out as a simple thank you for such a wonderful community...
'Relax,' said the night man, 'We are programmed to receive. You can check-out any time you like, But you can never leave!'
it turned into - something about loosing your freedom...
-sigh- You know, as a moderator *I* could go back and fix all my typos . . but who has taht kind of time.
...then something about
Is that leather or later? I didn't sign up for leather - did I?
Thank you Skinhit...and what a family it is!
MindStuck - yet another brilliant name for a skin!
Thank you for the welcome - here for a short while but already Zubaz's spelling is stuck in my mind!
Jazzymjr - I didn't know there was anything before the Tandy 1000 - takes you back some though to think of these first computers. Do you know I still have my Tandy 1000 - I found it in the basement last night. I couldn't believe it!
I can't contribute on the art side but I can buy pizza for everyone - might get cold shipping it to ya - but I would.
...and vStyler just in case that fan goes out - here is an idea...
I just finished researching as well and I would say you more than likely do have thermal protection - of course it is dependent on the motherboard - the processors do have the thermal sensors but I can't find anything that says for sure the Compaq motherboard is setup to read them.
There was a commercial for Shake-n-Bake - little kid says "And I helped!" - Argggg...
Here is a link for the most comprehensive list I could find regarding Max. CPU Temps. - at these temps it isn't that you will destroy your CPU but things will sure get interesting to watch - like your computer freaking out. [link="http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/143/5"]WWW Link[/link] Kona0197 - Actually it isn't your CPU that controls the shutdown it is your motherboard. So the answer to your question depends on what motherboard you have.
Well after thinking about this a long time - I say - it is either okay or is isn't. (this moment of wisdom is brought to you by "CPUs-r-us" you smoke 'em we sell 'em!)
Uh...now that depends...for the exhaust of a jet engine...nope just fine!
If you catch it while it is happening - grab the video camera - and you can make a dream...er...maybe more aptly called a nightmare for us vSalvador!
Dane - it is the one thing that has surprised me with Vista - it is very hard to break. I always try to break new operating systems as soon as possible to see how user defensive they are. Vista does hold its own. Now just get a couple of nagging issues resolved and I think in the end it will be solid. It does have a lot of bells and whistles that aren't business required by any means but as far as stability on a foundation basis it is good so far.
Hopefully im ok..
I hope there won't be a new skin called - Winmeltdown - by vStyler.
Lets see - well without too much detail - it involved too much Pepsi to drink - a country road - and an electric fence I swear I didn't see!
