Bug/Playability issues resolved. Decimal instead of Integer math, and apropriate display changes as well. Patrols: Being able to set ships on paths to guard large areas. Alternately, when in guard mode and someone comes within range, seek & destroy. I also agree with Jack that whatever the problem with SmartExecption is be resolved, so we as beta testers can give better information about problems.

true, 'cause I'm not sending you mine. :) If it's any help, I'm running WinXP with the ISA Server Firewall Client. My computer is behind a Windows 2000 Server running ISA.

Also, if you have 10 routes, and the UP votes to add two more, you have problems. As long as you don't go to the trade screen things will move along with few problems, but when you click on the trade tab the game will crash. I also noticed the same two lines in my Debug.ERR along with the following: *DEBUG ERROR: *** Unable to locate font Verdana04294967295Race12B, FTDataManager::FindFont *** *DEBUG ERROR: *** Unable to locate font Verdana04294967295Race12B, FTDa

After playing with this some more, I belive that I can simplify this a bit further. If a ship on auto pilot reaches its destination before using up all of its moves, then control is passed to the next ship on auto pilot. Once all auto pilot ships have moved, it auto turns.

I have been having another interesting problem with autopilot. With Auto Turn off, and once you have most of the speed enhancing techs developed, send your Survey Ship out to go investigate an anomoly. Assuming that all of your other ships are not manually moving, i.e. they are on auto pilot themselves, in sentry/guard mode, or in orbit, the following will happen: When the SS hits the anomoly, you get the screen detailing what the anomoly was, and it matters not which anomol

the HTTP 500-13 error is generated only by a web server. I got the same error on Sunday when trying to connect to www.GalCiv.com. If any of the hops between Fredrik (or myself) and the GalCiv web server were broken/offline/fubar then you would have received a different error message, one generated by your browser, that sad, in effect, 'you can't get there from here.' And technicially speaking your statement is correct, that there are a lot of servers between here and there, bu

I have an idea. :) If there was a small additional program that was bundled with GalCiv that would be associated with a file extension of .GCM. When you would open a file with that extension, this other program would extract the contents of the .GCM file into the apropriate directory. This is the way that WinAmp installs new skins.

When playing on a map that is Huge or Gigantic the Mini Map becomes somewhat less than useful. Would it be possible to have a zoom feature? If you didn't have scrollbars on the sides you could click and drag the zoomed map around to see the other areas.

I don't think it should be a 'habital planet list', but an 'Known Planet List', A list of all the planets I know about. You could, on planets that the player owned, show what items are curently being produced at the moment, kind of a 'Everything I Know About The Planets, But Didn't Know Who To Ask' kinda screen. :)

I belive that it would make things more interesting. the only problem that I see is that in certain maps that have been generated by my system, there is the occasional cluster of stars in one corner or another, but the nearest systems are 4 or 5 sectors away. But then, that might not necessarily be a bad thing, depending on what your game style is.
