There is no doubt that money in large amounts being help by a single person can give that person a lot of leverage to pretty much get away with almost anything. But then wouldn't that be a good enough reason for people to want to make thier own wealth?
Sure! Because then that way if you're flush with enough $$$ you can perv off with all the eleven year old little girls (or boys if it makes any diff) you want or drive drunk or bea

I've worked in a jail for fifteen years and I have yet to see a wealthy individual do real time. Oh, I've seen plenty get arrested (for everthing from DWI to family assault to theft to sexual assault and/or indecency with a child) and booked and sometimes even a tiny few of 'em manage to actually get convicted but somehow.... they mysteriously never do any time. Eh, 'fraid I don't do video games. Not so much I don't do them per se as I can't do them. Something about all that jumping around on the screen makes me nauseous and ALWAYS gives me a terrible headache -even if I only play just a few minutes. Hell's bells, I even had a hard time sitting through Cloverfield fer cryin' out loud! [e digicons]o_O[/e]

Times are indeed spooky Mason. We need to keep in mind that we are survivors and the end product of a billion years worth of survivors too. We will make it if we hang tough like we always have in the face of adversity. One thing I can say from where I'm sitting though is my job is looking safer and more secure and needed by the day as the deeper we get down into this shit. A big part of me wishes that wasn't so.

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent. Eleanor Roosevelt said that and it's a piece of wisdom I've always preached to my children.

(BTW: I was going through a stack of books I had in the corner the other day and found all kinds of treasures I had misplaced. Among them my copy of I Hate Poetry My Catalogue of Mistakes. I have it beside me now as I type this as I pick it up annd re-read a page or two randomly every night)

No matter what happens there will always be someone to come out on top.
