I keep thinking that it’s better to have more resources than fewer. I’d love to hear how others feel about this.
As I recall there was some talk of mythical beasts, dungeons or other things that you wouldn't see every game and in fact might be quite rare. While mundane resources like wood, iron, etc. should always be on maps in some quantity, I would be most pleased if rare resources with strange properties appeared, varying your choices of what equipm

If it's intentional, so be it, but I would certainly like to see regular units accrue experience through battle and become more effective, even if only slightly.
Option 4 for sure here. One thing I wouldn't mind explored however is some more stats for units. STR/DEX or AGI/STA or CON/INT or MAG Base values for Attack and Defend could be derived from weapons and armor respectively. STR would increase attack of course, but could also do other things like allow move movement while wearing heavy armor. DEX or AGI would add evasion of attacks into the combat and also increase number of attacks and precision possibly. S
Not sure if it's going to stay that way, but units I've designed already show up in the next skirmish I try.
Nah, it's not very clear in the game. I almost posted it as well in the first beta release before figuring out how to equip by accident when I had more than one ring on a unit.
Not a bug. You have to double-click the ring to equip it for the max hp of the unit to increase.
Option C I guess, but to avoid constant messages about substitutions being made, I'd rather have the ability to allow the computer to just auto-equip troops of your design with the closest weapon/armor if the gear you chose is unavailable. Ditch rings, healing items, any other accessories if not available. Here's what I'd like to see using Draginol's unit example. Materials like mithril, iron, leather, wood, etc. would have stockpiles in every city with access to th
I checked Dell for you but it seems your graphics driver is newer than the one they have available. Your sound driver is about 8 months out of date though, just to let you know. I'd suggest to run SpeedFan and chart the temps you're getting up to when the error occurs, but heat really doesn't sound like the cause at all. Looking at your pastebin, I see you're running at 1024X768 on a 1280X1024 monitor. Try increasing to your monitor's native resolution as well.
https://forums.elementalgame.com/364302
Elemental will require a DirectX 9.0c video card. While it currently uses Shader Model 2 only and will probably work on DirectX 9.0 a/b cards, we will not be guaranteeing that it will. Listing of video cards and which versions they support are available for ATI , <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/
Can't reproduce reliably either, but had it happen in my one game since the update. Difference was that no matter where I moved it simply would not let me enter that territory and declare war. Went after another Sovereign's lands just fine though.
190.62 is the latest version for your card, but you're running 190.38. Since that's not an ancient driver, I'm guessing that's not your problem, but it's still something to check out I guess.
Yes, more frequent updates are definitely the way to go. I'd do more testing, but between myself and the multitude of others hammering at it, the bug list seems pretty exhaustive right now. When the game's stripped of almost all features, there just isn't that much to report on after a few days besides the fact that it's missing content everywhere, heh.
kryo beat me to it, but the GeForce 6 series with 3.0 support came out back in 2004. If you haven't updated your graphics card in over five years, you're due for an upgrade.
I don't really want to see natural regen out in the field unless it's being granted by an item, first aid skill, or resting at some ruins or constructed fort/campsite. Magic of course being another option, but I was just limiting it to basic units. If you've chosen to go adventuring in the wild, it should be an incentive to return to town to rest up and heal. A sovereign of whatever faction ends up possibly being connected to life magic could be an exception, possessing an
I like how in its current broken state, we still have nice things like controlled units easily stacking with one another and also being able to separate without a mess of clicking. Lots of other little touches I like, but that stands out.
Yes, as much as I liked Alpha Centauri, that was a problem there. Once you had researched everything upgrades became obvious and there was no real trade-off. Heavier weapons and armors should reduce speed and agility of the unit. You'd hope that you could reach the point that your nimble warriors could avoid many attacks and move across the map quickly while still having the danger that a heavily-armed fighter if he did hit you would maim or kill. Cost should also
Probably too early to start discussing typos, but anyway the interesting discovery of 'footware' is spelled wrong. Received the bonus twice also and it's not clear if it stacks. Personally I'd rather if any bonus such as this could only be received once per game or at least that there be a different message for each higher level of the same upgrade. Thought it was a bug, but apparently you must double-click any discovered rings to equip them. Could be made more clear
Confirmed here as well. Repeatedly couldn't attack from the east without just getting the popup. Moved to south border, entered their territory and conquered their city just fine.
Just wanted to confirm this. Also, could be a case of me accidentally clicking multiple times and turning it back on, but I could swear that sometimes I clicked on it to shut it off, ended the turn, and he was still auto-exploring.
Seen the same or similar issue many times now. No real trigger for me other than building 2-3 structures in the same city.
Appears to be a memory issue from the log. Had to go get cleaned up and ready to go out and just left the game running on the research screen. Selected a new research topic, hit done and instant CTD. No system freeze or error messages. http://pastebin.com/mfd6ed7e
This one made me laugh. Right after creating the new game, my leader can't move and while he can create a new town underneath him, all building spaces are red and unavailable for new construction.
Was a few turns into first game and was trying to move the sovereign around some while the game apparently thought I wanted to place a building. I remember distinctly moving it twice before the game became unresponsive and died. Had to put comp in standby and bring back up just to end program. Good chuckle at the send report screen saying the title was 'Turn based fantasy game'. Oh, I had also just loaded the game as with the save game popup being broken right now, I a
Eh, I'm not sure how well destroying the ogre den works. I finally managed to do that around the middle of the game on my last try and more ogres were just pouring in from the west. Plus I still can't tell if towers are worth it. The 300g flat upgrade cost is very nice, but even 4 placed next to each other can't repel a dedicated ogre attack unless your heroes happen to already be there by coincidence. I just get pulled in too many directions towards the end and even
I've made it to the waves of 4 ogres at a time before it did me in. An early marketplace and blacksmith to make money from my heroes and give them potions and new gear seemed pivotal. My best so far was focusing on just warriors and clerics. The problem I really have late game is getting my heroes to stop just walking around and actually go attack the enemies slaughtering my buildings without spending the entire treasury. Taking out a few of the spawning grounds also
