It looks like I left out a setting for settings group 3 - sorry. There are 0 minor races in settings group 3. Has anyone already put time into a settings group 3 game with different settings on minor races? If so, we might be able to grant an exception there, though I hope we've caught this early enough to avoid that problem :).

I always play on Suicidal and usually play TA. I've found with TA, it's very helpful to play with tech trading on. One technique I like focuses on trading for a few early unique techs that are very useful. Playing as a race with starting diplomatic advantages is useful but not necessary (though diplomacy penalties are tough with this strategy). New note: Dystopic and I have decided that it may be easier for everyone if the teams with three players knew up-front which player is eligible for the extra game. I have just rolled the die (virtual die actually - www.random.org), with rolls of 1-2 being assigned to the first person listed in each team in the OP, 3-4 to the second person, and 5-6 to the third. Davabled, you played a great game this round. I'd misevaluated the difficulty of ZYW tech victory on those settings - very tough indeed. Team D, great work! A 15 point round is very impressive. Team A did excellently as well, but really each team can be proud. The games that are average in the MVL today would have been at the top of the pack several rounds ago- the whole league is getting stronger :). And thank you everyone for your sportsmanship
At a certain point, I wonder if continuing to acknowledge his existence does more harm than good. If no matter what he does, no pays any attention whatsoever to it or to him, effectively he does not exist at all. DethAdder, if this causes you to slow or stop your activity within the empire and the Metaverse, then Harborne will have done far more damage than he could have by releasing Tyrant proprietary information. No one here is going to hold this against you - if anything, assuming people will behave decently is a character strength, not a sign of weakness. Curious: Is tech steal still even possible? To achieve it, is it now possible to use permanent, passive spies to get the infiltration level up, then active spies to steal the tech? If tech steal is out, espionage may have just become less useful than it was to start with :(.

Motti, I think Harborne was just trying to prevent an un-necessary second fire storm when his 3 legal new characters hit the Metaverse. He seems to be making a genuine effort to be above-board going forward and I don't think it's fair to punish him forever for past transgressions (though reasonable people can disagree on how close to forever the duration should be).
Seeker, if you haven't posted games under the duplicate accounts, I don't see where that would have any bearing on Metaverse integrity. In fact I personally don't see where it does any meaningful harm other than to have invalidated your activation code, which only hurts you. I'd doubt anyone would hold that against you. It's quite a different situation than Harborne's.
Oh: And TheGreatEmperor, thank you for giving us advance notice about your no longer being able to serve as team captain.
Wyndstar is ranked 58th. Personally, I think that says all that needs be said about the utility of the Metaverse ranking list in evaluating player skill :).
I really appreciate that you did the testing, since as you said, we did not know. It was possible we never had understood the espionage bonus mechanics or that Stardock fixed their uselessness with 2.0, but alas, not to be. I'm still very grateful you took the time to find out for sure. :)
This is the way espionage bonuses have always worked, isn't it? I'm not convinced that's actually useful unfortunately :(. Thank you very much for testing it though!
