I preordered the retail box. How will that work in conjunction with the Impulse client, which I don't have installed on my computer? Do I have to be online to activate Elemental in order to play? Will Elemental update itself, or does that only work through Impulse?

Looks like you got very lucky, being near a Best Buy with employees that screwed up. Breaking a street date is a BIG no-no in the industry. I doubt other Best Buys have the game for sale yet. Best Buy's website lists both the regular and limited editions for preorder, but has the publisher as "Jack of All Games Entertainment." [e digicons]8|[/e]
