Not being able to afford games gives you no right to just take them anyway, or to "temporarily steal" them to determine if you really, really want to buy them. If you can't afford to make bad purchasing decisions, then try the demo. If it doesn't give you enough of a taste or you don't like it, then just don't get the game, period. If you're having financial issues, then honestly you should probably be doing something other than gaming (legit or otherwise) with your time anyway.
<br
This post is going to get me flamed, possibly get my account locked, get people trying to email me to tell me how much of a "********ing ****** mother******" they think I am. Here goes: Right now, I'm downloading Sins of a Solar Empire via *************. I stumbled upon this topic while googling for a review, or preview of the game's content. The truth is, no matter how pretty, or fancy, or fun, or epic a game's content may be, you never really know whether or not you
for some reason nobody has asked this and it's probably the most valid question. A. What are you rendering? B. What are your current render times?
the design of the gas giants was done with pinching textures because we were going to export the possibilty of having the gas on the planets move around you need a standard cylindrical unwrap to do so. That's why they're using a diff uv mapping set
I painted the textures by hand, took forever... the uv's lay in the planet texture. The seams require TLC
Kryo, I wouldn't argue with them, they are probably some stupid "know it all" morons trolling the forums... In fact, he's probably even pirated the game, or else I see no reason in going on this tirade he has for the last few days. remove his posts from here and start a diff one, he's totally gone off topic here and is messing up any chance of people who actually want to view this post properly. Either way. Any person who thinks that Stardock being the only distributer for the
This beta update will be available only through Stardock's new Impulse platform sometime in mid-July. We will no longer be providing standalone patches for future versions of the game. And previously, regarding how Stardock shouldn't "punish it's customers for piracy":The reason why we don't put CD copy protection on our games isn't because we're nice guys. We do it because the people who actually buy games don't like to mess with it. Our customers make the rules, not the pirates. Pirates
well, the advent were/are humans who were banished from their home worlds because of experiments different beliefs and mind control. This is the TEC's sins. The Advent return for revenge on the human(Their sin). I see the advent as more evil than the TEC in the game due to the fact that their weapons are things that torture the mind.
freeze your modeling under edit, and then freeze all transforms as well you probably have a modifier on your object and have weird scaling values on your centers.
I feel the reason you are getting a lot of critique is because of the manner at which you posted. You were very aggressive and quick to blame ironclad and label them as if the do not care. The fact is, you can download the update anywhere on the net without having to register the game, it's only on the main website that you have to. There have been multiple updates to the game since release showing ironclads commitment to those who have purchased he game to make it the best they can.<br
What specs is your computer? Do you have all the latest drivers? Your lashing out at Ironclad claiming they don't care about the consumer is uncalled for unjustified. Since release, Ironclad has constantly updated and maintained this game. They are already on patch patch number 4, 5 to be released soon and are already working on patch 1.1 What I'd suggest doing is saving the minidump into a zip file and sending it to ironclad with a save file so they are able to see what the problem is and
Don't use crosswalk, there is another .xsi exporter
I doubt there's a poly limit. Try cutting parts off the ship to see if it works at lower counts. If it doesn't, than you probably did something wrong when importing.
There is poly limit, We tested it before long ago. I just don't remember the number off hand.
12000, hahah I WISH! ya, Depends on the model really man. If you have a lot of them on screen, so say it's a frig, I'd personally keep it around 1500.
ya, you also may be missing shader support. So the game may not look pretty
You have failed to realise that Sins went through a very long beta process where it got it's gameplay and balence Ideas not from the people in house, but from the customers who played in that beta. No game is perfect for every single person who will play it. I full hearted believe if a game is mod-able, it opens the doors to every person out there to experience a game they enjoy.
if you put the game in windowed mode, you can stretch it over as many monitors as you want
Well, I know xsi, maya, and 3dsmax For modeling, the best and fastest package is xsi. The learning curve really isn't too bad. It's just not like the other two packages. Modeling is generally the same in any package. A tool in one package will be called something different. User interface is very different as well. find what suites you best. Sins was made using xsi. XSI is 500 for a license that you can actually make money with. XSI also has a mod tool which is free. It's basica
Mini Dump FIX?Seriously a game that needs balancing or a bug that has to be fix for one of the abilities is one thing but a game that just crashes is just plain wrong. Yes I've have even tried a new hard drive to reload the OS with all updated drivers and just the game but it crashes at the worst time (ie 1.5 hours into the game when you are about to start battling). Can we return the game for a refund?
Stop spamming every Topic. Have to reported your issues to Ironclad?
the exe file is meant to be run in command prompt
Would you guys prefer they not listen to anyone at all? That is all I can see coming from constant complaints and no suggestions. The code is as open source as it comes. all you need to read it is notepad.
Perhaps a thread stating suggestions with a disclaimer at the top stating all non useful post will be deleted. That way we won't have to read all the rest of the garbage posts going on. There is good feedback and bad. Lately. It just seems like the forums are being attacked by 15 year olds with nothing better to do. In the end. We all want this game to be great. I think people have forgotten that and are only wanting their way. Ironclad and Stardock are game designers who
hey, sounds like a graphics card driver issue
We painted the seams out in a 3d painting package
ok, well, first off, sins uses it's own sphere models. With this comes it's own custom UV's. Sins models don't have a seem that runs to it's poles, we have caps.
