It did bother me when the shortest route possible happened to pass up my econ starbase completly. The shortest possible route might just be the most inconveinient route possible too. I have an Idea. Why not just have a branch of the tech tree that allows you to lenghthen the shortest route possible by (a number)%. Then anything longer than your lenghthening ability would have a trade

Hmmm....This stuff is very interesting. seriously though, it might be true that the majority really don't agree and that it's only an apperance. the only way to know for sure is to conduct an anonymous questionaire to get their actual opinions, which AFAIK hasn't been done. Hi there! I'm cheap. I go with the cheap techs, xeno research is always first so that I get xeno labs instead of those cheap basic ones. Normally I'm the Thalans, so I get Xeno Industrial Theory can Xeno Economics from the start, so I don't go for the planetary improvements intil later. OK. there is an xml file called MapRaceInfo. I think you need to mod the files in that too, or it will still appear as the terrans, I don't know why.

OK. I have DL v1.0, so I don't know what you mean by a planet quality tech. Oh, and technically if you have +50% Planet Quality, a class 4 planet would turn to a class 6...just had to mention that.

OK. I'm positive now. Government is meant to be used in the raceconfig.xml and tell what political party the civilization will choose, so it shuoldn't be used on any planetary improvemants. I'm still clueless as to what cabinet is. It might be what form of government they get (Imperial, Star Demacracy, etc.). No, wait, it isn't. Maybe Cabinet gives you extra voting power? OK. Scratch what I said before about home planet quality, the improvement could easily have this for a tag

OK. I think I know what government is used for (it might be cabinet, I'm not sure), I was adding my own Political party when I noticed that each party had an ID number. I think that government was meant to be used in the raceconfig.xml file for each race to tell what political party they would choose. Oh yeah. JubJub. Actually, after nuclear waste is recycled or whatever, it turns into a material that can be used to make nuclear warheads, but is otherwise harmless. So thats where the political problems start. Nuke plants use Uranium (I think), and I don't think uranium is renewable, so won't we run out eventually and have high prices with that just like gas is now?
