If you have the means (understand what I'm explaining) you can verify some things this way: 1. fire up Sins, start a MP game, then Alt+Tab out of the game 2. open a command prompt (Start > Run > type "cmd" (without the quotes) > press 3. then issue the command "netstat -abn" (no quotes) and verify the output [Do not post the output as it may have sensitive info in it] What you'll want to look for is any references to Sins LISTENING on the appropr

Looking over the pleas for help, I see that individual step-by-step guides for any/all home user routers would be immensely helpful! I can put together one for the DL-4300 Gaming Lounge, once I can get some free time. What would really be cool, anyone that has MP setup and working, please create instructions (screenshots a plus!) and post them here. List make, model, firmware version of your router too. Sometimes they can be the same model, but one has newer code and has changes that a

I like them all and that would be icing on top of the icing on the cake! :-p 9. Not such a good idea IMO. SWs should be insanely high up the research tree and expensive to build, thus making the player trying to make one extremely vulnerable...BUT if he were able to get it, watch out...he's going to smoke you. 19. Let's expand upon this...how about allowing new players the ability to take over an AI player mid-game as well??? (WiC)
Let's be clear here guys: We're not opposed to providing additional speed options (both to slow the pace and increase the pace). But there is no setting that will ever make Sins into the typical action RTS type game.
Shouldn't this be the end of the argument? The devs have spoken! IC is looking into patching slower/faster options (slider or button) to please the newcomers not used to this style of game. That "wishlist" is being considered...be
the new acronym Just a pet peeve note; an arconym is an abbreviation that is pronounced, like Radar, or Laser, or APEC, or QTAC, or TEC, etc. They are considered "words", hence the Greek root or the suffix "-nym", which approximates to "word". Abbreviations like RTS, RPG, RT4X, FPS etc are merely called abbreviations. They are not words (since they're not pronounced) - they are abbreviations. Acronyms are specialized, pronounced abbreviations. <b

I thoroughly embrace this game as a NEW genre, it's neither RTS or 4X...it's the best parts of both rolled into one AWESOME game style! Why does it have to to resemble one or the other more/less? Let's just learn to live with the new acronym and only make reference to this game's new and unique gameplay niche (RT4X)!

See...sirex1 got it right. He has polite, constructive criticism of aspects that he would like to see changed. Nowhere does he slam the game or threaten to never play it again! This is how you get your opinions heard and I challenge all the whiners/complainers (what sirex1 did isn't whining or complaining BTW!) out there to follow his example! Thanks for you well thought-out post!

HAHA! IC is releasing an update already (pinned on main forum)! "This week's update will add some new maps (maps without pirates for those who want pirate-free games). It will also cure the annoying bug where games in progress wouldn't dissappear off Ironclad Online (ICO) and so you'd get a "rejected by host" message when in fact it should have disappeared or said "game has started". And the tutorials are fixed for users running at high resolution." Looks like Trust (and other

Yeah, my post was a little "childish", I'll admit...but I was smiling when I wrote it! hehe ;-p I just want to know what he hoped to gain here with that comment? Does he need his belly scratched? Threatening to stop playing the game because the AI was kicking his butt doesn't hurt anyone but himself AND potential purchasers on the fence post. So he can't get all huffy if we slam him, when he trolls here. Besides he could have convinced somebody else (that would possibly enjoy the game)
Contact [email protected] about the download to box upgrade. It will cost $5 plus shipping ($10 US, $20 International). All download orders will get downlodable versions of the CE goodies automatically at no extra cost. They should be up for download sometime today.
I do not doubt your answer Kryo, but the email (below) is the reason for the post. Stardock support implied there would be a way to do it on the we

Sorry guys, it was fixed for me doing the steps I listed. I'm not sure if they will help any of you. The only reason I mentioned RAID was to show I changed the installation directory, that's all. By no means is RAID required...sorry to confuse. The XML trick was listed in another thread somewhere that I read. It's under your Prefrences > Adavanced tab in SDC I think. When I clicked update, it did a big download of something. Then I installed from the archive. If Safe Mode work
SAFE MODE INSTALL FTW!!!
Even better...Not in Safe Mode and it installs! Mark my issue as FIXED baby! 1. download and archived 2. updated XML database, apparently that doesn't happen when you check for app updates 3. installed on a different harddrive (a RAID partition) 4. success Fired up the tutorials and away we go................ ;-p "Oh Lawrence, I'm so excited...I think my testicles ar
