I don't recall anything specific going on during this hang, it just happened during regular gameplay. Debug.err http://pastebin.com/m5a5a3149 and dxdiag http://pastebin.com/m239f83b6 Thanks. On further investigation, I will submit these through fogbugz instead. Thanks for your patience.
I am going to take your word that saved games work. I gave up after 10 minutes of loading. Make sure you're loading a game saved from 0.24...if it's still giving you issues, please send the save file to and . Thanks!
I tried it again, and the issue is not the saved game, but trying to load a saved game when there is already a world in play. My s
I saved over a slot used by a save game from a previous beta version, and after 10 mins of loading seemed to be hung at the last little bit. http://pastebin.com/m172cc8ad This is the debug.err. http://pastebin.com/m4f585a6d This is the dxdiag.
I'm just hoping we aren't locked into a boring old patriarchal/primogeniture model for the dynastic stuff. I'd like, but don't expect, to see a canon faction that is fully matriarchal, where sons are bred to look good jousting and married off for fat doweries, alongside a faction or two where title-holders can choose their heirs, and perhaps even one where the sovereign isn't even obliged to choose among his or her offspring for an heir.<br
Forgot the pictures. Starting positions too close: 1253668284 River weirdness, plus continent about half the size of normal : 1253669141 I am not sure about reporting the continent size, but some maps fill about 30-40 % of the screen, and others 70- 80%. I don't know if some are supposed to be small and some big or not, so I posted the last one.
Do they not want any duplicate reports of bugs, or do they want them in an existing bug thread?
I really dislike the jarring full screen changes like the research screen popping or centering on units offscreen, but a more subtle messagebox reminding you that you aren't doing any research would be nice.
Your sovereign can start dressed like a warrior instead of a wizard, with a 9 attack and 7 defense. The research bonus faction has always started this way for me. I think it is called Parriden.
I agree about the save/load system, I have not had a successful loading of a saved game yet.
I noticed that sometimes your sovereign starts out equipped like a warrior with 9 attack and 7 defense. I think the faction that comes with a research bonus (Parriden?) starts out like this. This makes the sovereign an almost unstoppable force in this build, especially if you find any +5 attack rings.
I never received the email, but could download and play the beta fine. Is there anything you need the email for if you can already play the beta?
So how does this build compare to the skeleton gameplay 1A build you said was to be released Oct 1st?
I think there are some lines that shouldn't be crossed, but that's apparently not a problem with Elemental.
I can get a variation of this to happen every time when I try to start a new game after I had already been playing one. Instead of a new map, it will use the old one but not give me a sovereign. So I have to exit the game to start over.
Kudos on the open-ended development schedule, that is a bold move! I hope it pays off in praise and profit. I can't imagine what the end product will be, but I am looking forward to the whole process.
I hope the campaign takes a different approach from the GalCiv2 campaigns. It was tedious doing the startup phase over and over again for short scenarios. Also being able to keep your progress is essential in these modes, and GalCiv2 had very little gameplay continuity from one scenario to another. It is difficult to keep players interested by only progressing through the story alone, especially when it is a page of text between hours of gaming. There has to be some pr
Sounds pretty bare bones. What exactly will we be testing for in betas 1a and 1b? Engine. Does it crash? Does it run well? Can it survive alt-tabbing? Etc etc.
I hope not. I was under the impression we will be primarily testing gameplay features. I haven't read about them wanting people for the purpose you stated, though I am sure they will be glad to
Double post.
