I agree... implement hotseat. it shouldnt be to hard to do with the way the current game works. there is already a cheat for it but you have to manually change back and forth between the factions you and your friends are playing. id like to see the option in on of the major patches. thats my vote anyway.

I always max my population growth. the extra economy and unlimited soldiars is very very nice...
LightVader, you have some good ideas. I particularly like the ranged weapons idea. however in my oppinion rather then changing the current weapons, i think it would be better, and easyer for the devs, if they instituted a 4th weapons type. Artillery these long rang weapons could bombard ships in ajoining sectors or even farther (with reduced effect). They would be very larg and rather worthless in close combat. I think artillery should not really be able to distory ships, unless the
two things i really like were just mentioned. First i compleatly agree about the begining credits. i think it would really add a nice dynamic to the colony rush to not have that initial pocket change. i think an additional begining option is in order to change the begining credits. and Second i have always been a little anoyed with the "symbols" of the resourses. i know its kinda being nit-picky but they do tend to pull you from the euphoria of being emmersed in the game, remi
And just so you know, there is no such thing as constructive criticism. People either are giving compliments or criticizing. When a parent points out a childs mistake the child, (even teenagers), are not going to say "Thankyou for pointing that out to me ..." They know they have messed up. When was the last time you were in a room and somone said that to their parent after being criticized? I’m sorry, I know this is old (chuckling to
its true, you can do alot with the diplo super. untill every one else get the diplo techs as well. then... its not so much supper, just kinda shinny and neat. Or atleast thats what ive read ive never played with the humans since ive heard to many crappy things about how the diplo super ability sucks in mid to late game. and every game ive seen the human AI play they just get shatted on. because they h
im gonna be honest, im still confused about wheather im runnin the "beta" or just a late release update to 1.5 im running 1.59.078 Is this the beta? It was said earlyer in the post that inorder to get the beta you had to go to US2 server. i got this from US1 and when i swiched to US2 there was no update there. i would love to play the beta if im not already doing so. ps. when are other betas coming out? it was also mentioned that there was going to be a series of betas for the 1.6
I really like the idea of other kinds of governments. who says that a dictator has to stay in the dark ages. just cause you want to have control doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get your own different bonuses. i say creat a branch in the tech tree at interstellar governments were you can chose: * Capitalist (++econ) * Socialist (+moral/research) * Communist (+production) You can "label" these governments however you want. we have three different ethical alignments, why
i have never expirience that befor... but then again i have never, not experienced that. maybe i have just never noticed. however, if this is a bug in the game it does need to be fixed cause i compleatly agree. to be blamed for something you didnt do is bull... and it would anoy me too.
tetleytea, what your saying is true... if a human player is playing with those abilities. It is my experience that when i have both the Korath and the Torians in the same game their AIs (more so the Torians) suck at properly using their abilities... therefor the simpilest super ability almost always comes out on top because the AI can acutally us it. In almost every game i every play i give myself MAX points at the begining in pop growth. I play on cripling, and in every game i play
my issue with tech trading isnt so much how the AI is tough or not, its the AI making dumb desicions. I know its extreamly hard to code the AI to beter value cirtain techs. Some techs just shouldnt be traded... but then again if your going to give them 3 or 4 planets.... well... im just saying. and the AI-AI trading is also a very big issue. and is a MUST fix in my oppinion. and Belanos, i agree with you on not really being all about playing the game untill the other updates come ou
... i think the point of delaying the game modifications was so that we would use the fixes and get them working first. telling the devs that your not helping them out, refusing to use he bug fixes till you get the candy is probably not the best way to get your question answered just a thought...
question... the beta downloaded automatically to my computer from SD, but im the middle of a meta game. will the beta affect my ability to post my score?? iv had trouble posting scores in the past, this is why im asking.
any hint on what day it will be released?
honestly most of the commotion about espienage IMO could be solved by impimenting the already suggested "out comes" of trying to nullify a spy. it is such an excelent idea. right now the spy game is a waist of time, money, and energy. its a nice little curiosity in concept but thats about it. by adding these ideas it would give some depth to the spying game. Yes it would still be a pain and expensive and needs a masive overhaul... but that just means i get to look forwerd a better setup in
no... because one maxed farm on a non bonus tile gives you just about the perfect amount of pop to go with one maxed moral building. just be carful when you use the bonus tiles... make sure you have a specific goal in mind (aka: breeder world), and that you understand the moral penalty associated with high populations...
now if i could only get my girlfriend to enjoy this game as much as i do... maybe that would cure alot of problems
The food bonus tiles. They are damn near pointless. It can be somewhat useful to have a +100% one on a PQ 15+, but the +300% ones are simply unuseable. Ultimately the game seems designed such that increasing population on a planet with > 15 bil on it is self defeating. Therefore having a farm tile that can allow a pop of like 30 (I dunno, just guessing) is no good, as you would never want that many people on a planet. The same goes for the +100% ones
Engin changes: hull size change -------+------------ tiny 40% small 60% medium 100% cargo 110% (?) large 130% huge 160% EXCELENT idea. right now i almost NEVER build tiny or small ships, yet the AI seems to be head over heals inlove with them. i play on tough or cripling and the AI seems to constantly waist time with these little ships. adding this feature wou
so clarification... i now understand how the guard option works. your ship really does "stay put" till another ship comes into range, then it wants an order of what to do with the senser info... i can live with this, infact maybe even grow to like it. however what about the sentry? the name implyed somthing along the lines of a patrole. i assumed it was a patrol that would stop and ask for orders similar to guard every time it saw something... but i cant get it to go back and forth. What ex
... i know for sure that i started it with the metaverse option... idk whats the mater
am i just missing somthing? i know ive read breefly about people using the guard and sentry opptions but ive never been able to get them to work... am i just not clicking the buttons right... if some one out there uses these options please let me know what to do, cause its reallly annoying to have to deal with the same ship every turn needing a "stay put" order... and on the same kinda note, ive also never gotten the "exit planet here" button to work. i click on it, click on the square
i agree with the more pirats thing. the idea of "smuglers" "blackmarketers" has been brought up befor. but i really like it. i think there should be a minor race call the ... "somthingcool order" that would not have a home planet, but rather a series of modified starbases that would have ship building abilities. that way they could always be moving and building new starbases as old ones are found and eliminated by any civ looking to iradicate them. they would buy and sell techs and weapons
when i start i slide my spending to 100% right away. i try not to rush ANYTHING if i can help it... maybe a factory if i really need it but for the price of a factory i could play several extra turns at 100%. doing this i can pump out colony ships about ever 3 turns once i get my factories built, wich doesnt take long at 100%. AND YES i do build 1 or maybe 2 scouts first. basically i can build a scout in 6-7 turns while its still like 20 for a colonyship. so while im waiting for my fa
basically, yes it would be. as much as i am for both manu and research SBs. i kinda like the idea of making them tied specificially to gas giants and low grav planets. im just tired of seeing all these circles on my zoomed out map that just clutter up the place and do nuthing. and id rather use them then make the circles disapear. but, as for the semi-habitable moons around gas giants... im an astrophysics major, and gas giants actually have a huge magnetic field. thus the radiation
