Almost certainly. They are scaling the graphics so that it can run even on notebooks. However you wouldn't be able to play anywhere near max settings.

Looking at his profile, I suspect he needs a short sharp introduction to 'the real world', as opposed to his obvious sci-fi obsession. What I don't get is what he finds entertaining by his spamming.

I doubt they'll be in the core game since they are unlikely to use things from a specific book like that. It would need to be modded in (hint hint).

The first beta will be as Brad says - 'not fun'. The graphics will be very basic (it will only be on the cloth map, which is the icon based zoom-out map), there will probably be limited functionality and there are bound to be stability issues, although these should mostly be weeded out with hotfixes in the first few weeks. You wouldn't get in the way unless you posted useless suggestions or spam/trolling on the forums, so don't worry about that. If you want to wait until the

[e digicons]:thumbsup:[/e] I would suggest one thing though - put a warning about this on Impulse which shows up before people download the beta (like a pop-up or something). Otherwise people who don't read these things and don't know about Stardock betas might think 'this game is awful, why did I pay good money for this' and demand their money back etc.

I liked some of the Vulcan ships from Enterprise (one of the few good things about that series).
