None of this works to skin chrome. When I try that shortcut it says the path doesn't exist but it does so I have no idea how to skin chrome.

Sorry, my bad. I tried clicking the icon instead of the words.
I can't download trial version from stardock website.
As of today, they seem to be working but I don't know why it fixed itself.
Lately I noticed that the weather gadgets don't work properly. For example, when toggling forecast (today is Sunday) it gives the forecast starting with Friday. It also says that the status is "retrieving alerts." It also gives sunrise and sunset as both occurring at 12am. This makes me wonder if the temp is even correct.
OK this is very weird. After dl'ing Desktopx I tried running another gadget (Fader). Failed as before. So, I changed the compatibility to Vista SP2 and then ran as admin. Ran perfectly. I changed the location and closed it. Then, just for drill, I re-dl'd made in the shade, did nothing for compatibility and simply double clicked (not as admin). It ran perfectly. Tried another (forget which) and simply double clicked and no problem.
Well, I just dl'd DesktopX and tried a widget. It worked as usual w/o any problem. Just had to reset my location.
Uvah: No error report is there.
All of these gadgets worked well before when I had avg and the same windows firewall. And, like I said, Windows doesn't tell me what the error is; just that it is closing the program.
Blue my mind is one that works. Fader , made in the shade, mezzanine don't.
Yes, I also tried running as admin. No luck.
Neither avg nor firewall blocks these gadgets. I don't know of anything that blocks scripts and don't know how to check for that.

I just had to reformat my hard drive and got my data. I then copied all my gadgets from backup to a new folder on my C drive. When I tried to open the made in the shade weather gadget it failed and Windows closed the program giving an unspecified error. I tried dl'ing a fresh copy and it also failed. I then tried some others and most failed. The ones that work so far are Blue my Mind and CF65 (2 different versions). I have no idea why this is happening
Never mind Neil. I tried it in PS and it did open them. Even previews them before opening so I know which one I'm opening. Cool!
Thanks for the reply Neil. So Photoshop can open them and recolor? Or, do I use Skin Studio free version?
Where are the Explorer Backgrounds kept on my hard drive and what format are they in? I'd like to recolor some (in PS) for variations in themes. If not possible then that's fine. Thanks in advance.
Dave was right. I just now tried to apply a skin and wb asked for the serial. Thanks everyone.
btw, rnd, i do have the serials, i just can't figure out where to input them.
wfx just asked for the serial so that's ok. wb and cfx plus haven't yet. I did check my stardock central and the serial numbers do appear there. Does that mean they were automatically entered? I'm not sure because the wb program does say that it needs to be re-activated.
My computer crashed so I had to dl all my downloads again. Now, I've just installed both cfx plus and wb7 but I can't figure out how to input the serial numbers. Please help. I have a feeling this is gonna happen for IP and wfx when i get around to them.
My computer crashed so I dl'd the cursorfx plus program from my downloads but I can't figure out how to enter the serial number. Please help.
I created another package via package builder. I used the area which builds the control panel icons and tested this by putting a few (maybe 5) in there. I then saved the package and went to the program to apply it. After applying those control panel icons did show. So, it appears that changing the icons via the program's "change icon" function doesn't work but if one starts out by building a package which include
This is really frustrating! I have gone through the long process of changing all the control panel icons to my custom icons. When I then apply the changes and go to the control panel screen all those I changed do appear. But, when I switch to another package (e.g. windows default) and come back to my custom package, none of the control panel icons show. All that laborious changing down the drain. Stardock really should fix this because there are competing program
I have a suggestion for the IP program re: color changing. Now, when I change a pack's color, all the colors are affected by the change. If there is more than one color in the pack, then all are changed, even the black (if there is black in the pack) gets a tint of color. I would like to target the main color only. If the colors are black and red, then I'd like to be able to change only the red. Photoshop allows this. I think Gimp does too. Of
