Definitely the character models and the water stand out to me as being "dated". While the map features are as well, the character models and water have always stood out to me as "in need of love". Looking at that screenshot, though, there is a distinct lack of flair to the map. The grass is just green tile, the trees have no real detail and the barren tiles just look...yellow.
There's a new art style for the new one. Since we have so many Civilization V people involved now, it looks a lot more like Civilization (land wise not UI wise). Specifically much crisper terrain styles. There's no guessing on what a given tile does.
When? Give us an estimate that I won't (totally will) hold you to.
Quoting XWerewolfX, reply 55 The early screenshots point to a decided 'no'. Sorry to disappoint. Screenshots?? Did I miss something, where are these located?
Check Frog's post history. You'll see them.
Thanks guys. I'll see about getting something set up shortly.
How shortly is "shortly"? You talking next week or months from now? You are a serious tease.
I would buy it three times at that price. So yeah, I'm in.
http://offworldtrading.com/ I've gotta say, this sounds interesting, but I'm not going to pay money in to a game that doesn't even have a complete prototype yet. I don't care if your name is Soren Johnson or not...
Not gonna lie, this one takes a little time to figure out/get used to, but once you do, the depth and fun is unrivaled in space 4X. Nothing against GalCiv3, because I'm sure it will be fun when it's complete, but DW is the king right now, in my humble opinion.
That is not true, Alstein. I have Steam keys to multiple games that are not available to purchase on Steam yet (most of them were kickstarted). I don't know the details that enable them to do this (likely they have to pay Valve).
I do, too. I've had access to quite a few betas that I played through Steam, yet weren't available to the masses. Your mov
I'd love access to a game with that kind of hype... Why not just stay with the Founder's thing? It works. Just keep it through Stardock's website. and give me access to that game. Now.
Also, stop teasing Frog. More announcements, less tease.
Voting has started. No. 27, the Haustoria, would love your vote!!
Hey Guys: I've entered the faction creation contest and would really appreciate your vote. I think I've done a really decent job of incorporating the minor factions and making something unique and different from the current factions. I present the Haustoria, a group of sentient parasitic plants: <a title="The Haustoria" href="http://forums.amplitude-studios.com/showthread.php?27905-Faction-Creation-Com
I like the extra benefits from getting in early and I love early access. Being able to play it and help shape it are key for me. I also like the cool badge ;)
Wow, you know nothing about Dominions, yet you say what it does and doesn't have. How about a mid level global spell called the Burden of Time? Population in provinces with a Death scale die a little more swiftly." or maybe the high level
Are you guys seeing these, Stardock?
I, too, have all of those coupons if someone wants one
Please fix the bugs that have been reported and put more effort into future DLC. If it's a faction DLC - test it to make sure the AI can use it. If it's a leader pack, make stuff we can't do ourselves with mods. We'd definitely ask that future DLC and patches don't introduce more bugs or break features. It's great that you guys are working on GalCiv3 but there are a lot of LH fans wh
Quoting XWerewolfX, reply 1 Also, when I meet the new leaders, they don't represent their respective factions, but new and made up ones. That's also annoying. https://forums.elementalgame.com/453770/page/1/#1 Reduced 70%Original 240 x 622
I like this. Will be the first mod I actually use.
^ I'm fine with that, and I appreciate the continued support, but can you please fix the bugs with Asha and the fact that the new leaders don't represent their appropriate factions when met in game? Also, can we please, PLEASE have the Dead DLC fixed so that the AI knows how to use them? Otherwise, they're sitting ducks and it seems like a rush job/milking ^ Thanks.
so many people are just dismissing AI as some impossibly hard problem the AI in 4X games is terrible because developers are a combination of lazy, poor, and incompetent
I'm now 100% sure I can discount everything you say from now on. Your posts are as good as the banner ads to me. Idiot.
Agreed. I'm over it. GalCiv will be the last thing I purchase from them blindly until I see a change here. Hate to say it, but it kinda feels like SD is falling back to the EWOM days. Ouch.
Barry, for starters, the fire woman's flames disappear when you equip her with ANYTHING. Second, when you meet them in a game, they don't represent their respective faction, but rather a made up one as a custom sovereign would. Not to mention that they're all, save the three with unique leader traits, boring and no different than what could be created with the sovereign creator. WTF?
Heart shaped man is seriously on to something. The genre needs to move forward and that sounds like an EXCELLENT way to do it.
