I would give you karma, but I already sold it to the devil.
What!?! No mention of Master of Orion I & II!?
Weird how things go. I've often gotten "Culture" victories purely through conquest. Generally once I take a homeworld, most of the space belonging to that enemy becomes mine.

The Drengin were badly nerfed even worse. It seems to be their lack of focus/care for their economy ... they don't try to get it going, they fall way behind in research and tech and can't fund many colonies. It gets worse by the time you get to the last expansion because Stardock un-equalized the tech trees for all and gave the Drengin really shitty economy and research capabilities. I generally focus heavily on economy and research at the beginning and let other races get
I binged on Master of Orion II. :P
It is somewhat difficult for me to choose between Starcraft and the Homeworld series as my fav. I play Starcraft a lot more often, but that's because, even on Windows 7 64-bit, I can play Starcraft. Homeworld (and HW2) just doesn't work on any modern OS, and none of my systems that could play homeworld (the last of which ran Windows 2000) are operating anymore. I have two current computers: this laptop and my gaming rig. Both of these have multi-cores, and RAM an
Apple refuses to compete with Windows. They easily could have, OSX was written to be OSX compatible ... but then Apple said no and decided they didn't want to try to offer an alternative to Windows. They've even gone so far as to sue anyone who builds x86 systems and sells them with purchased OSX installed. I'm no fan of Microsoft's shenanigans, but Apple's is even worse. Forced bundling with AT&T, whom I will never do business with, and refusing opportunity for people
Before you know it, they'll lobby Congress to have selling and buying used DVDs considered a felony. :/
I agree with others - Show & Tell on Youtube! :P
I actually like Epic. I was a fan of their games since their "Potomac Computer Systems" days and ZZT, heh. Haven't played one of their games since the 1990s though. I don't think there were many games more moddable ever in the history of PC gaming than ZZT. Yeah, yeah, I'm a dinosaur.
Frogboy: Woohoo for any alternative to IE. :)
Frogboy: Given your acknowledgement of Microsoft's anticompetitive behavior, using its deep pockets to under-price its product to eliminate competition (like OS/2) then, when they've destroyed competition, to then start dictating prices and terms ... I wonder why Stardock seems bent on helping it further this by using IE as a basis for Impulse instead of Firefox, Opera or another browser?
I think I suggested this awhile back, but don't remember exactly and don't feel like reading through the hundred+ pages in the thread, so ... Techs are just too convoluted -- seemingly both from a playing standpoint and from a coding standpoint. There seems to be an intentional comical/cartoonish aspect of GalCiv versus, say, Master of Orion ... but still, given some of the tech descriptions, it seems those who built the tech database just got bored making the entries and coming
No, hypocrite, I maintain that I will feed my family before the world. This I proudly proclaim without any remorse or regret. With the plenty I have left over, I will help those who are hungry outside of my family, but my family comes first.
No one has asked nor told you to feed anyone. What you demand is to deny anyone else an opportunity to feed their families so that you have the exclusive, supe
I suppose you also believe the Civil War was fought over slavery? Bzzzt, wrong. Good old Abe Lincoln couldn't have cared less about slavery. In fact, most of the US didn't care about it either. The Civil War was fought because the South was protesting against the government trying to pass laws on them (outlawing slavery) when it was not supposed to be in the power of the government to force such a thing on the
As is common, unfortunately, the mob tirade is against liberty. When the mob is arguing that the federal abolition of slavery was illegal and unjust, there is simply no way for me to make any constructive arguments. When you declare you have superior rights because of your noble birth versus other unworthy folk who may not be allowed to earn a wage to feed ther family, you have zero claim to any belief in freedom, liberty or justice for anyone and, in fact, you are an enemy to e
I like Impulse. I can turn Impulse completely off and still game.
This isn't history repeating itself. Being against illegal immigration isn't because we're racist, it's because if Mexico were to come into the US there would be zero jobs left for native-born US citizens who want them. That wouldn't be fair. I, for one, don't want to have to move to South America just to find work because South American citizens + outsourcing snatched up every available job.
I
Nice foulmouth and dismissal of history repeating, there.
Illegals ... first it was free black men, then anyone with Japanese ancestry, now hispanics and anyone wearing a beard. If the United States is to be a supremacist state, then it deserves to be wiped off the face of the planet. Bigotry and fascism disgusts me no end. When you feel it is a crime for someone tobe allowed to work to feed their families purely because of their race or what side of a political boundary they were born, there is somethign seriously wrong w
