If you download the amazon kindle app for your pc / android / iPhone/Pad / Kindle you can download a sample of the first 3 chapters. After 3 chapters I was hooked enough to spend the price of 2 cups of coffee on it. It's not fine literature and doesn't pretend to be and I didn't expect it to. I'm reading 'The Demon Aweakens' by RA Salvatore as well currently and I'd consider the quality of both to be equal. It's a fun little romp, and along the
.... but it’s amazing what the team will do, even in their free-time, to make the game better (my ‘wouldn’t it be cool’ feature is a spell that locks escape routes, making a given T.Battle a fight to the finish).
That's gotta be a spell called Thunderdome
Now that's a nice changelog for 1 day.
And podracer failed to read the developer's responses.
Thanks for working yer backsides off Frogboy et al. Especially on a Sunday.

I just realized that I never use the Empire Tree Gui. Do you? I know in theory that it's supposed to be like in SOASE, but in practice, I'm never in that much of a hurry to shuffle between 7-8 cities. Maybe on a ginormous map It'll be useful, but then you'll have a whole column of icon garbage to shuffle through, so I'm not sure it's that useful. Would you miss it if it wasn't there? Any thoughts? On a related note, the Turn Events
Quoting NullAshton, reply 17Here's one idea I had that would give more flexibility. Action points = Move Number of action points it takes to move one tactical tile = 1 Number of action points it takes to attack once/cast a spell once = Action Points/Combat Speed Number of action points it takes to counterattack = Half that to attack That way, combat spe
The level 1 quest from an Inn to go save the noble's horse gives you 2 horses in reward.
When attempting to load this autosave the gui just vanishes and I wind up just looking at the background movie and have to alt-F4.
I've started 2 games now in a row where I start off and after a turn I get the 'Hire me for help' message.. except there's no one around.
My caravan arrived at my new city and it promptly went poof. Dump Here .
Couple other thoughts along those lines. At say age 7 or so the ability to let your child go be a squire to one of your champions or via diplomacy let your child become a squire of an allied Champion. Give the champion some kind of bonus (preparedness, freshly sharpened weaponry) or something. Then as the Champion does stuff the child gains attributes until the age of 16 or so. Of course the diplomatic repercussions of having one of y
Since essence is what seperates the rulers from the pleebs, what if every point of essence imbued to a champion/soverign family member extends their lifespan by 100 years. So non imbued champions would retire at age 50 unless granted a boon by someone with a point to spare or having gained essence through questing. Not that there's anything wrong with going adventuring with your great great great grandmother, it would make the lineages be a bit more important. Also the e
Quoting Frogboy, reply 70I should mention that since this video was taken that the min distance between cities allowed was doubled to 10 tiles. I have to admit, that even after seeing your responsiveness over the years on several games, it still amazes me. As a software developer though, I have to say that it must be painful for some of your employees to see you sift through the forums and
If only the game told you that somehow and it didn't require you spending an hour trying things only to realize you need to restart the game.
One thing that strikes me as Odd is that playing wasshername the female character, I marry the first NPC i see and we both wander off exploring the map in different directions. Then a bit later, I pop out a kid. That I can logic away with 'honeymoon' magic however the next couple kids I pop out with the married couple at different ends of the map I have a harder time explaining. Can it be made so that you can't have 2 characters procreating unless t
is it green or red 'snow'? If that's the case, your graphics card is overheating try lowering the frame rate throttle in the game settings or lowering the textures/shadows etc. The Nvidia series 7xxx 8xxx 9xxx were all notorious for overheating after a few months. ( I went through 9 cards from different makes and models (no overclocking) in about 4 years. )
You have no idea how many times I clicked those screenshots hoping they'd expand. [e digicons]:D[/e]
I think there's a sweet spot between the two, the zooming out should shrink the units some but not as much as the level of zoom because at some point they just start obscuring the other tiles. So can we get a slider instead of the checkbox for selecting the unit size % when zoomed out ?
It would be interesting if when a wizard creates a permanent spell they tie it to a physical object, trinket or something. (ie casting the spell makes a magic trinket) And whomever is holding the trinket gets their total mana reduced to make up for having to channel energy continuously into the object. Should the holder of the object die the people/creature that killed em get to loot the object and either maintain or destroy the spell (possibly revers
Any chance of sharing some details of how the Impulse:reactor is going to work? Is there a beta of it that we get to provide feedback on? Is there some kind of community ranking of Hot mods etc etc? Inquiring minds want to know! The ability to easily find high quality mods and easily use them strikes me as something that can really give Elemental a chance to dethrone Neverwinter Nights as my longest played game.
or a skill called mountaineering for letting units guide others through the mountains? But still at a high moment cost, I mean they're mountains after all and getting a unit of siege engines through em is a bit of a challenge.
Just a quick thought on city building. What if non-special tile housing and food production tiles automatically appeared outside your town so as people moved towards your town the farmland would be cultivated automatically and farmers would appear and neighborhoods would organically rise up to provide housing for the people who work in the core tiles. So gradually your larger cities would be surrounded by farms and civilian neighborhoods. Then a
Ooh, I loves me some particle systems :) Are particle systems tied to spells only or will we be able to embed them on tiles and units?
