To each his own I guess. I always associated grinding with doing any kind of fighting outside of the main quest, regardless of the difficulty. In the more negative sense, I would associate it with any type of boring fighting, but once again, this is regardless of difficulty.

Hmmm, it's great, but between objectdock and impluse dock (or whatever it's called). My desktop is already nice and tidy :/
Time to be a negative nellie and scream about how this will fragment the player-base and end up preventing people from finding others to game with. Of course, I still play the V&K Middle Earth mod for Diablo II...
Well, disregarding balance issues for submitted content, I think people just need to be less picky about what they play.
I tried to phrase my question as neutrally as possible in order to aid discussion and increase odds of a designer response - but I really should just go ahead and say that your response mirrors the concern that prompted my question. I want leader units that are useful and interesting. That isn't the same as saying I want leaders to define the value of a given combat unit or group of units.
Well, if leadership is just a stat bonus, this merely comes down
With regards to the "DLC for paying customers" debate, I must confess I bought into impulse and Stardock in general quite late; however I do recall Valve releasing free Counter Strike Source maps and content as early as 2005.
I'm pretty sure stardock was still first technically. I say technically since it wasn't on impulse and it wasn't for games.
DRM like locks and alarms keep honest people honest, IMHO.
This is probably true for the simple DRM types (such as CD checks). But what about the DRM used on spore? That's way above and beyond what's necessary to keep honest people honest. In fact, there's a small percentage that are driven to piracy because they couldn't get their legal copy to work.
Now, don't get me wrong, the game still looks awesome and I certainly will be preordering it. The "humans only" thing strikes me as an odd design choice though, especially considering the inspirations for the game. It would be a little like making Total Annihilation 2 without robots, no? In any case I very much hope that Stardock changes its policy and includes "canon" races besides humans, even if they aren't elves, dwarves and so fort
Ok, consider this a first bug report. In the second screenshot, it should read Cavalry, not Calvary, unless you're traning mounts shaped as a skull...
Maybe they are...[e digicons];P[/e]
