What the heck are the system requirement for this? I have a fairly new, fairly decent rig, but I am getting atrocious performance... 6 fps in planet viewer, and 10 fps on the standard screen on new game. I have a i7-4810, 16gb RAM, and GTX 870m Are these not enough, or should I be getting better performance than this?
Free GalCiv II ultimate on Steam for founder's?- I didn't hear that.
The offer was from an email a few months ago - I was just wondering if it was a special promotion or a general bonus for upgrading. Email didn't specify.
Is there any info on just how many expansions / dlcs there will be, and at what rate or pricing? Also does the free GCII ultimate on upgrade still apply? Just wondering if anyone can make a good case for upgrading from regular to elite.
Oh hey, its Sigil from the AOW3 forums! http://www.ageofwonders.com/forums/users/sigil/topics/ He trolls there about how much he hates the animations compared to HOMM6 over and over.
Had a friend interested in getting this - but the sale is no longer going on? It is definitely still the weekend...
I was wondering about this too. I was thinking of purchasing rebellion, and was wondering if I would be able to run diplomacy owning only base and rebellion. I would mostly be interested because the mods for diplomacy appear to be numerous and in general more completed / higher quality.
The idea sounds interesting, but not really thought out how it would work in game. Having heroes randomly running around attacking you, killing your units or taking monster xp would actually be quite annoying. Most of what you want to include sounds like it could be broken up into two simpler to implement steps 1) Fleshed out minor factions. Make the syndicate and free riders something that actually has teeth, possibly with their own home city or wildland. 2) More intera
Studded Collar seems a bit too powerful: maybe add a maximum level to the creature it can capture? I just got a hoarder spider with it in my game (Level 10, 160 hp, 41 atk, 21 def). This is less than 50 turns into the game.
I have been a long time fantasy and 4x fan. Bought the original Elemental, shelved it pretty quickly, and recently discovered FE and my beta access. First off: Great job so far. FE is loads better than EWOM, and the recent 5C really started to nail it down to feeling like a polished game rather than a quest engine. The troop/champion balance is much better, cities feel useful, and the tactical combat engine feels smoother and more polished. Now for my comments... <
2 questions: 1) Will there be hotseat multiplayer available (1 computer, switching turns)? I use this feature quite a lot with my friends. 2) Will Impulse be able to be used for pitboss like games (where the games data is actually all on impulse, people just have to log in say once a day to take their turn)
I have the string error after I build a culture center. The +% from culture is replaced with a cannot find string error in the planet window. Also, when I got the lvl 6 ability (dinintigration?) for the Vasari missile capital ship, another string error occured which crashed the game.
It would be a good idea for a higher level research. With some limitations of course... the pods should not be able to jump through phase space on their own, but be attached to ships. These pods should not fire for some time after jump, and be extremely susceptible to weapons fire until then. This also leads to stationary pods to be layed down in systems, and maybe point defense or electronic warfare pods or addons. Pretty much anything from the series would be nice in the game, though.
Hmmm... build your own mini-planet as a massively advanced tech?
Assumption 1: Completely agree. Game feels like swarms of scout frigates currently IMO, the true tactical skill in the game is the person who relies on combined arms. The guy who just cranks out tons of heavy frigates and tosses them at their enemy should get mowed down by the player with a more thoughtful strategy. Exactly! I would like to see fleets that work together, auto using special abilities and their strong points (
Sorry, double post.
True. I just use Scout Swarms until I can tech up to captitals. Then I just use fleets of 12-20 capital ships. Only useful frigate is the construction frigate. The battles do seem the same after a while though...AI swarm of scout frigates vs. my swarm of scout frigates...
Maybe an option to set game speed? From Quick to Epic? Basically what archpsi said.
3) make it the only fully customizable ship in the game, where you have 3 weapon slots, 5 device slots and 3 armour/shield slots and you upgrade it at a specific structure. Excellent idea! All of the battles near the beginning seem to identical as is. A lot of scout frigates, maybe an occasional flak or siege frigate, and if the AI is being really ambitious, a Kol Battlecruiser.
The galaxy (or solar system) could use some help. But it doesn't need a complete rebuilding... more jump lanes, moons/anomolies would be a great start!
We have another patch coming out for Easter with a variety of goodies and some fixes. Goodies!
I used to play sword of the stars a lot, but it had a couple problems Did they ever fix the auto combat? It used to be horrible... It didn't take into account anything like shields, engines, point defense. It looked like it just used attack and health to decide a winner. Also, did they fix the ships AI? They turned horribly, and my dreadnaughts would waste 32 missiles on a destroyer that only needed 4.
Aww..I liked that crazy income thing. I got a quarter million credits in five minutes...thats a lot of capital ship experience!
Maybe just make it so that ships can't jump through gravity wells...I find that really annoying.
Nice updates!
I like the different colored beams! The light yellow/orange used for almost everything gets old pretty fast.
