Actually NO. I have tested the cheat and it's not even close to being a substitute for hotseat. One example of many: You can't talk to each other. The reason being that while one player controls his empire, the AI controls the other player/players race/races.

I have some ideas on economic tweaks that I could see us making. For example: Social Production. Social Production could be automatically transferred to ship building when all planetary improvements are done. This would solve the potential issue of people's economy becoming crazy when all social projects are complete

The AI:s biggest problem to me is their ships. Especially early in the game. In my current game (intelligent AI of course) I use 2 heavy fighter designs, one for attack and one for defense. The first with two engines, 3 lasers and one support giving them Attack 3 & Speed 6. The second with one engine and 4 lasers giving them Attack 4 & speed 4. Every one of the nine AI races heavy fighter designs that is identical. ONE weapon (often missile giving them 2 in atta

In my current game (intelligent AI) the Drengin is the most powerful race in the galaxy. Multiple major races (including me: the mighty Yor) have paid tribute to them to avoid war. They are currently slaughtering billions of Torians and conquering their worlds.

But he didn't say that did he. If you let them build up their infrastructure, of course they will begin to produce masses of ships. Have you looked at their planets? They only build factories on them, nothing else. It says in the campaign too that they don't colonise planets which probably is true in the scenario as well so don't let them conquer planets and fill them with factories.

Stop misinforming people, please. There are three types of events: Colonization alignment event. Random alignment event. Even more random event (for example 'lucky ranger', AI alignment switch etc.) The first two are in .xml-files and can easily be modded. The third, I haven't a clue where it is but I have looked through the whole data directory and it isn't there. I'm quite sure that it can't be modded. expansion01events.event is a file in Galactic Civ

It takes one turn to upgrade both the scout and colony ship with better engines and costs very little so this isn't any big problem. And while you are at it, you can also return the colony ship to the homeworld and load it up with maximum amount of population.

Lots of bugs from a game I began in 1.0X, played some in the build you put up on a link and now is continuing in 1.0X.01: 1) I had the warfare tax UP law take effect. The next turn, even though I wasn't in war with anyone, I began paying 5bc/turn. I have previously conquered two minors and made war to a major that later surrendered to me. After that I attacked another major, took a couple of planets and then he surrendered to another. Now I'

I have another crash bug for you. Might as well post it here. When I get a better factory-type-technology from trade and has planets that were building the older variant, some of them will instantanously finish building the new one. Very noticable on a big map with lots of planets that are building their first factory. However, those planets will n

I third the motion. Like you, I like to play these kinds of games with my brother. It seems that you can already play the game hotseat by using a cheat code. What was the point of this – why did they not just enable regular hotseat play? The only way I could understand this is if they wanted to get the game released quickly and plan on fully supporting hotseat p

I noticed the following bug in 1.0D1: * After the colonisation event that increases planetary defense, the bonus doesn't show up in the planet bonus area. I played through some of the campaign while waiting for the new patch and noticed some typos and oddities: * Siege mission end game summary overview victory. It's written "Our troops quckly...". * Achilles Heel mission briefing. The end of the first paragraph is missing a '.' (don't remember the english word) * S
