There are lots of companys out there that think in that stuborn way. I will not buy Dx pro for full price. but let me pay the difference between dx and dx pro and then i would. there for stubborn company's would get the money they are losing. not offering a discount they wont see the money of those who are not willing to buy the same program twice. Most people who are going to by DX pro are going to because there had in mind to sale there thing right from the beginning. I still
I do understand that. But why not try to make you existing customer happy by offering a discount. I bet people would upgrade there for Stardock would make more $$$.
If you buy vista home premium and want upgrade you do get a discount. MS does care
I bought an Xbox 360 last year But Xbox 360 is not a soft wear program. ITS A video console.
try an email to sales & and ask I just got a response from stardock Sales. They simply said NO DISCOUNT for Object Desktop Users. What a load of crap! I have standard DX installed in my computer witch comes with Object Desktop. Why would Stardock not want to satisfy there insisting customers. To make a customer to pay for a program at full price when they have already paid for standard Program without A discount is crazy. Its just BAD CUSTOME
Do what I did talk your girlfriend or a family member into buying it for you as a present! SirSmiley: I have tried that with my wife. She thinks that skinning is a wast of time. I just got lucky to renew my first year of Object Desktop
I tried an email to stardock and no response. I will give sale a shot.
I dont even want to sell anything. All I want to do is make sidebar gadget that everyone can use. DX that comes with Object Desktop does not let me make a stand alone Sidebar Gadget. I made a weather Side bar gadget and someone who downloaded it said that he still needed to have Dx installed to use it. That stinks! I love skinning and would love to make more sidebar gadgets so every one can use. not just DX owners. Why make a sidebar gadget if only dx owners can use it. Guess i will just kee
I have DX wich come in Object Desktop. My question is. Does stardock give some kind of discount if you upgrade to DX Pro? I hate to have to spend more money on DX when I have already bought object Desktop. You would think that Object Desktop wold come with the Pro version in all Object Desktop Program. Or At least give us a choice to buy Object Desktop or object Desktop pro.
All I can say is that if you are complaining about logon vista in object Desktop and you think you are paying more for it and you can not use it because you have xp instead of vista. I would say its time to get a new computer. The price of Object Desktop never went up. Its not anyone fault that you still have XP but your own. Its time to face it. XP is old and out of date. <img src="http://images.stardock.
Thanks, Bichur and Bilbo1930 I am using the DX that comes with Object Desktop. I will have to make a note of that when uploading to the Vista sidebar gallery. Its kinda sad when you buy Object Desktop, that the pro version is not included with Object Desktop I'm lucky enough to just to have Object Desktop and be able to renew every year.
If you make a sidebar gadget with Desktop X. Do you still need to have DX installed to use The Vista sidebar gadget? Or can you use the DX made sidebar gadget without Desktop X installed?
I have had a similar cpu usage. It was caused by windows Defender. It only done it a couple times a day though. So i uninstalled it and cpu usage went back to normal. I never did see the mysterious cpu usage again. At least that was my problem. GOOD LUCK FINDING IT.
That's odd. My setup automatically grabs any available update (if any) before running a scan. Try doing it yourself. I just did it this morning and it gave me an update. I then scanned the same files and everything came out good.
Avg newest update has finally corrected the false positive problem as of 2/24/2007.
Just to let everyone no. As of 6/24/2007 Avg has finaly updated and took the false positive away. Windowblinds is safe again. LoL
Reasearch for "Skinning getting to hard" Thats my answer to this. I am sure Stardock is working on making a solution on making skinning Vista easier.
Larry Kuperman, Thanks for the link. Anti-Virus programs should really do there homework before they update there software.
The thing that bugs me is that i have a anti-virus program that im suposed to trust in protecting my computer. Whether its AVG,Kaspersky,F-Secure,mcfee or zoneAlarm all programs that you are to trust. But then something like this happens. why even have a anti-virus program if you can not trust what they put out. there should be no false positives . I wonder how many others false positive are out there that we have taken and deleted out of are system. So who am i to trus
any time a red flag shows up. you need to worry and never take it lightly. I hope it is a fasle alarm, But i will uninstall WB till the flag turns green. As of today 6/23/2007 AVG says it is still a threat. Thanks Zubaz for the fast response.
Stardock and everyone who reads this. I just downloaded the new update for Windowblinds via Stardock central and my AVG antiviruse detected 7 infected files in the new update. Can some explaine to me why or how this can happen.
I just tried it. How cool. Works like a charm I would say that Vista sidebar gadgets section will fill up at a fast rate.
People are always willing to help as long as they understand the question. If they do not understand then maybe you did not ask the question in the correct way. Does that make you Stupid? No! Love Vista And never will look back to XP. Just waiting for software makers to catch up with Vista including Stardock. XP will be out of date before you now it.
