Would Dragonspeak help you to dictate posts
I am bringing this post to the top again, to let you know, thanks to the Doc's suggestion, I am now the proud owner of speech recognition software. With the help of my family, I have been able to buy Dragon NaturallySpeaking and I am amazed how efficient it is, so now, hopefully, I will be able to take part in the forums again.
In sweden people with disabilities get aids like this paid by health insurance.
Thanks mickeko, your Country has a good reputation for looking after disabled people, we have no such scheme here, not that I can complain about the UK, I have only been employed one year in the last 21, due to my health, but have managed to live comfortably in that time, I also have a very good family, wife & two daughters & grand-daughter, who understand my illness well & how important my computer
Thank you, everyone, for your supportive replies, very much appreciated.
Would Dragonspeak help you to dictate posts and maybe someone in the community can suggest voice driven software that can help with automated tasks?
DrJBHL - I must admit I have not thought about speech recognition software, funds are a bit short at the moment, but definately something to save for. When I started skinning, I uploaded my first skin in November 2007, I read that WinCustomize did not want members just to submit skins but to be good a community members & participate in the forums etc. Unfortunately I suffer from a very rare metabolic disorder that prevents my muscles from producing energy which results in a severe fatigue problem, (& a lot of pain) that knocks my br
I am on Vista Ultimate, 32 bit, & a recycle bin shortcut on OD & when I right click on the icon I have the "open" & "run" CC Cleaner options on the drop down menu. I am afraid I can not remember how I placed the shortcut on OD.
Blackcurtain, I have been skinning WindowBlinds for just over a year, & had this same problem & got around it by removing the border on the left side of the mouse over. But after a lot of time playing around with the margins in the painting margins & text tabs I managed to get the right border to show, this was in my skin I have just finished & uploaded yesterday called Less Colour. If you look at the margin settings on that skin it might help you. I have just started a new skin so I am not sur
i am only a learner at this game, & do not feel qualified to advise, but on the start panels I have done with a pattern I have made the images true size & used the "centre middle section" & "centre (true (size no margins)" options in the drop down menus in the painting margins tab in SkinStudio 6. Hope this is of help.
Great news, I hope he gives you as much pleasure as our Granddaughter gives my wife and I. Proper Job.
Thanks Vstyler for the quick reply. I shall have to change the background.
I recently uploaded a skin called Blue Knight, which is the first dark skin I have done. Dark backgrounds need light text colours, & there is one drop down menu i can not find how to alter the text colour. The menu in question is the drop down one in explorer & IE7 by the forward & back buttons, the background is defined in "skin defined system colors", & the mouse over image is the menu item in controls/popup menus. I have the text colur set to white in the
Proposals look good to me. I hope to support the subscription drive soon, a bit short of funds at the moment, the value of Sterling sinking like a stone in water not helping. I too would like to know if our personal pages are going to change.
Yes, the thread title sounds ominous and perhaps could have been worded better, but the end of WC is not envisaged, I'm sure...
I agree with Starkers, I think that the main problem here is the majority of us are afraid of change, I remember the postings here when the site had a major update a while back, which is ironic as we all come here to change the look of our computers etc, but if you look at the WB gallery, a lot of the highest downloads are for skins that do not change
Congratulations to all the winners, fantastic talent. Proper Job.
Congatulations to you all, proper job.
Congratulations to you all, Top quality all the way.
I am a retired farmer, & in England farmers are known as Country Yokels, hence the screen name. Country Yokel is also a name given to people who are not perhaps the sharpest nail in the box, which suits me fine as over the years I have benifited a lot from letting people think I am a country yokel, if people feel superior to you, it is surprising what information they will let slip.
I'm repsecting the honesty in the judging. I may not agree on some aspects but that's solely due to the fact that individuals are different. I would be lying if I said that I was not disappointed by the verdict on my skin. Critique is part and parcel of this game and I've learned to accept it and hopefully grown from it. Who likes hearing negativity about their work anyway?
The above sums up my thoughts exactly , although I have a few points I would like to raise. When
The new beta is working great for me also, (Cornwall, UK. Vista Ultimate x 32), thanks for sorting it out for us on the other side of the Pond, much appreciated.
Congratulations on a fantastic milestone, good to see you back skinning again, I feared we had lost your great talent.
Proper job, Thuglifejunior, great to see a fellow Celt doing well, keep up the good work.
Just one 19" LCD, 1280 x 1024 resolution, all I can afford.
Proper job, Peter, great work.
Proper job, CarGuy1, Northern Arizona, Breaker & Humming Bird are my favorites.
Hey, Sir Starkers, I think you & I could be considered off topic, but joking aside, i just wandered if you still have any Westcountry accent left or have you now got an Australian twang, folks that I know who that have lived in Oz for any length of time come back with quite an Australian accent. Believe it or not, a lot of Westcountry still speak like we have been doing, including me, although we talk "posh" when we write. To get back on topic, well done fer all them ther d'loads, proper job
