Now the shards seem to be aligned to an element from the beginning - earth, fire, etc. I would like to align them while building a temple because of 2 considerations. 1) I like to play comparatively small empires on big maps. If i can choose the mana types i like i can finetune my strategy, if i am not i am forced to expand beyond the limits i intended to, only to get the mana shard i need. 2) Specialisation. Sometimes i'd like to play the Fire Mage. I want to feel fir

I am all for the longer beta! Love the concept! But caution should be used not to make the game too complex - it would not do if only the beta testers would be able to play it. Having said that - i am really anticipating the long beta [e digicons][/e] .
I'm fine with this. It worked in GalCiv2, and it will work here, even in MP. I don't really care to have to micromanage battles. I'm so busy giving commands that I can't *see* what's happening; I get tunnelvision. Much nicer IMO to just sit back and be able to watch the battle play out- it's going to be a pretty good show I bet.
If you were right what about battle spells? Would they also be not unde
Will there be a limit of one hero per army? I quite liked having a wandering band of heroes in MoM, it was like having a little D&D adventuring party going on
I also really hope to be able to lead an adventuring party to fame and glory and not be limited to one hero per army.
On the other hand I would think a lot of development time (and hence cost) would go to creating these tools that allow players to create their custom graphics for additional races - I'd rather see that time being spent on game mechanics I would already be happy with something like the custom race creation in GalCiv II: a wide variety of parameters to fiddle around with, without any need for custom graphics (I'm obviously talking abou

I am quite a builder and a roleplayer at heart, so often while playing strategy games i was very upset to see that you (the player) are able to wield enough power to cast something like an army- and country destroying armageddon spell, but are not powerful enough to turn this pesky swamp right at the center of your domain into something useful, like a plain or forest, let alone destroy a mountain. This one resource you need desperately? Your arcane power riv

Quicksilver was not a reference to a company which... tried... to make a moo2 successor, but a pnp character of mine, the first one to reach immortality in a very long running Dnd 2 edition campaign. Way before the word "Quicksilver" came to be associated with less enjoyable matters.

In the beginning I was opposed to the idea of losing the game if your channeler dies, but now i think it might be an interesting mechanic if managed right. Managed right means: come on and try to kill him. i.e. It should be really, really hard, and not only because he is so powerful - going for a walk alone and meeting one or two dragons would probably be enough to off even a mighty channeler, it should be hard because he could/should be prepared. For example: everyone gets ei

Though i also do not want to have a half baked rpg on our hands, we do have heroes, our channeler being among them, and fantasy world with caves, castles, lairs and dungeons. I would really expect and want to have some quests revolving around- and exploration of abovementioned. In which form it would be remains to be seen, although i personally would not object, in fact would appreciate something in line with HoMM-caves, where only heroes could enter, i can see it could

Yes! Please put in genders, body types/races customisation, different hairstyles, age etc. Very important for me also! If i am going to create my own race/people/civilisation whatever (and i will) i really need these options. How else can i have my flying panther riding warpriests of Quicksilver supported by a cohort of all-female winged spellcasters? Btw this post is not sarcastic. I am serious. edit: also "themes" for civilisations -oriental, steampunk

Maybe it is a bit early to write it but i am going to assume we will be getting only a few heroes, beast units, and really experienced troops in a game. (Was confirmed sort of at least about beast units and is probably a good guess in case of heroes) If i will lose a lvl x hero i spent hours upon hours on building up i will reload the game. I assume most players will do the same. It is not something i enjoy doing but if the choice is between my precious hero or replaying the l

I have played most strategy games on the market since the times of civilisation 1 and dune 2 and always enjoyed turn based more than real time, although i can see appeal of both. The major negative points in RTS/ positive in TBS for me: - TBS it is usual to have truly different and valuable units with different experience and equipment. - rts: mostly identical units, one marine in Starcraft is identical to another, no levels, equipment or something else to differentiat

I, for one, really love the aquarelle/cell shading picture art style. The screenshots do look kind of sterile though - but i am sure that will change. (Can't wait for the announced squirrels in the trees ;))
