If you are just out of your ivory tower and new to game forums, this is not the way to start.
Oh, this just gave me and idea for a city improvement! Maybe the watchtower could eventually evolve into an Ivory Tower and grant you another +1 visibility!

Yeah, I'm new here too (a few days ago) and totally impressed. I think I came at a good time too. Also, the community here is just awesome, I've seen nothing like it. Everyone has ideas which are pretty good, the developers listen to feedback and communicate, and people are pretty respectful and open-minded. This is a really good game and it plays a lot better then any screenshot can display. I've played a few things that had some elements of Elemental but nothing with

Darn, I just thought that my archers were AMAZING. Way to ruin my thunder. @ Epaminondas73 Have you tried the game yet? It's not perfectly balanced or complete yet but it's fantastic so far despite all it's problems.

@ BlackRainZ Dude, please stop. This is becoming offensive by insulting people's language comprehension and religious beliefs. It's further derailing this thread more and more. There is just no end in sight without some restraint here.
That was not what I was discussing though and can we please en

I believe that any graphics wizards should start coming up with a skinning package download to release at launch... or for testing. Right now we do need more skin options... and clothing. But yeah, a little controversy is good sometimes. But it can be like the family is fighting.

Anything to avoid the "rinse and repeat" of something like Starcraft, it just gets old to me. I prefer the whole Civilization or Age of Empire approach to warfare and tactics. Lots of long term planning, implementation, revision, and, finally, execution. I like the strategery of it all.

Darn, I was hoping there was a hidden character creator for making custom heroes or something. :( But yeah, I'd just assume there will be more skins in the future. I was actually planning on messing around with them today to see what I can do with them but I'm not a graphics wizard by any means, I ain't got the talent like some of you guys do. Because variety is good, indeed. One thing that might help would be lightening and adding more pink into
I like to body guard idea to augment and scale hero/champion/soverign power as units power increases with organization into squards/companies etc. Adding henchmen, magical familars, and pets with more retainer slots unlocked with leveling, reserach, and equipment. That sound fun and another way to customize your leaders. Also I do not care for the additive method for generating stats for grouping units into squa

Seriously, this cannot be that BIG of an issue for you guys. If they make it an option, then turn it off. If they make it mandatory (as it's in the game), then don't use it. If they don't implement it, mod it in. If you still don't want it, mod it out. If that's not good enough, don't purchase the game. It's a win-win every way you look at it because, one way or another, everyone is going to get what they

Apologies are you talking about the Sovereign creator or is there another character creator I'm missing? Regarding skins, I'm sure there will be more with either an update or modding. All of the graphics are located under GFX folder in the main directory, it's only a matter of time until someone releases a package of excellent skins.
not sure it would work with experience ect.. the way units are currently treated (as 1 large unit and not a mass of individuals) the units to be merged would all have to be the same type. How about the ability (once tech is upgraded) to have a unit in a city train additional recruits to become a squad, company whatever? this would take population from the city.. and expand the size of your unit. Good suggestion! I'd love to see this too. I tend to play free and open democratic societies made up of many races. For example, I played one game in Fall From Heaven (a Civ 4 mod) where my empire was made up of a few human cities for trade, an elven city for their scouts, archers, and culture, and a dwarven city up in the mountains for their axe-men and industry. It was really unique and unlike any game I'd played before. Perhaps there should be an option for civilizat

I really like DamnedChoir's idea on this one too. Don't use skillpoints on equipment but rather some starting gold. Also, I want my King to have an awesome portrait like some of the NPC's but I can't get crowns, nice armor, or even some basic swords. My King's portrait looks meek compared to everyone else's :( On that last note, gimme the option to update the portrait (for heroes and sovs).

Children do need a little work. While they do display the gender of the child while naming them it could go a little further. I'd like it if you could go into a customization menu to "set up" you child the way you want them. By default they'd use the child creation algorithm but you could customize their initial look. I suppose another bonus could be that you could create them like you would a sovereign but that'd spoil the surprise. I think it'd be suitable if we just name and customize thei

I actually like the idea of having heroes granting cities they are stationed in some sort of bonuses but base them on the heroes class. For example, an administrator would add 10% to the city's production, a Researcher would give +2R or add 10% research in the city, Farmers would increase food production by 10% or add prestige, and the sovereign could also have a few small bonuses. The question is Adventurers... they should be the main "explorer" and adventure heroes... maybe they add a LOS b

I'd really like to see an espionage system. I actually liked Gal Civ 2's final espionage system or Civilization 4's where you could sort of budget where your espionage is going and then send out agents to conduct acts. It was fun and engaging both tactically and strategically. I REALLY like RisingLegend's suggestion

Professional Evolution: I like the idea of transformations. I'd especially like to see more character evolution and the ability to train/learn new professions (perhaps at the college or something). Your character could spend 10-20 turns in a city "studying" their new profession or upgrading. For example, maybe a "Merchant" class could start off as a "Trader" gaining +2G and eventually be able to study the "Merchant" pro

I'm hoping that we'll be able to create, download, and randomly generate new heroes in the future versions. There certainly is a need for more sexual variety. I ain't casting no "change sex" spells, LOL. That'd make me question too many things in the world... mainly, everyone else. [e digicons]

The past couple games I founded my Kingdom with little/no food and find myself stuck. I have a good starting location but food is JUST out of reach because of poor placement. I believe that, eventually, my cities should be able to acquire these resources via culture. Instead they are stuck as tiny outpost-towns... with resources ONE SQUARE out of reach [e digicons]:'([/e] Passive Culture- Like Civ 4:</stron
