I have to agree that you have strong Libertarian tendancies, but I wonder why we're (and I do this too) so anxious to confine ourselves to these silly labels. Shouldn't we try to expand ourselves, or at least have the freedom to expand ourselves by embracing different beliefs without being boxed - or boxing ourselves into specific categories? By the way, I'm a registered Democrat, but a Libertarian in my heart.<img src="../images/smile

Hey, I have a question: Doesn't it get tiresome having to explain yourself? Oh...sorry...that's just a rhetorical question.
DO NOT remake a movie that Michael Caine starred in! ...good advice. I don't understand remakes. I mean WHY? How arrogant do you have to be to take something already considered classic and suppose you can somehow make it better ?<BR
watching 'the simpsons' is considered prostitution of your literacy in some circles, Actually, I think NOT watching The Simpsons is considered unAmerican in others... This is a great article; truly insightful!
I hate how some bloggers just start replying to a post over and over again, just saying the same thing in a slightly more condescending voice than the previous post. Being able to say what you want to say is a good thing. Trying to make someone else look stupid because they can’t spell is not. Yeah, and
Student Bill of Rights? What government organization on the Federal level defends this Bill? Sorry, I shouldn't have capitalized. What I meant was most schools have their own bill of rights or code of conduct governing students' rights and responsibilities. Students are not without rights and there a
You have no rights in school. This is not true; there is such a thing as a Student Bill of Rights. Which is not to say whether you may or may not be allowed to wear a poncho if it violates your school's dress code. Ouch. Some people are so strict! <img src="../images/smiles/notsure.gif" bord
Damn subversive outerwear! A poncho? What're you trying to do, start a riot??? the arts are not funded in the No Child Left Behind Act. The act just funds standardized testing in core subjects such as math, science, social studies, reading, and writing.
Hmmm... I guess I don't get that channel.... now that is a funny picture, the warm and fuzzy sadist/masochist
It's important to accept our "flaws," but it is also just as important, maybe more, to accept your virtues. You're not one-dimensional. You have certainly captured a feeling or mood that many people can probably relate to and for that, it's good writing. Sorry, more response than you probably wanted.
I don't mind at all....and good luck to you too!!!!! What are you interviewing for? Thank you, too!! "Library Specialist I" which is probably not as impressive as I think it sounds. It's an entry-level, part-time position, but at this point I would do almost anything to work in the library!<B
Good luck, good luck, good luck!!! If you don't mind, I'm going to tap into the positive vibes too; I have a job interview tomorrow that I am very excited about; so I may I send and receive positive employment energy!
LET THIS STAND IF NOT FOR WHAT IT IS THAN AS A POINTS WHORIN' POST!! Well points for you then. You are clever and too FUNNY, but I must say that you've made my brain hurt.
Try as I might, I can't come up with much of an example of how my job as a hairdresser is endangering the masses (I'm really quite good at it so no jokes about bad haircuts), yet I can strongly identify with how it feels: To suffer and swelter in a hair salon <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" a
Hmmmm...sounds like a classic case of parents over-compensating for an inability to express (feel?) LOVE. How do you suppose they'll top that next year???
Now, now, kids, let's play nice. As far as I'm concerned, both sides played rather dirty and towards the end of the campaign, it seemed like both sides were playing a horrible game of catch-up. Except instead of competing to reach some higher ground, they just sunk lower and lower. While the exit polls revealed that "Moral Values" was the most important issue to most of the voters, I think it is an oversimplification to say that thi
You know, I read and commented on the (offending?) article, and I'm not understanding why you now feel the need to apologize. But that's OK; apology accepted. Carry on. I'm stil waiting for my black & tan.
So, it is factually incorrect to say the civil marriage is hijacked by churches. Please tell that to the religious right.
Not at all, especially if it's in a frosty mug with some Bass Ale! mmmmm.
Why re-define marriage? Marriage (in it's current incarnation here in the US) is between a man and a woman. Currently, gay couples have, or can have, all the rights of a married couple except the right to leave the partner with the others soci
Of course I care. And who would dare tell you to shut up? Don't they know this is America ? If this makes me the crazy person on the corner that nobody listens to, fine, so be it. Sometimes there is a fine line, my friend, but I'll probably see you there. <img src="../images/smiles/j
Wow, I just got finished writing about how I hate my job and it threatens my sanity and I stumbled upon this. I took it as a hopeful sign. So it is possible to be happy in one's work? Good for you!!! Not only that but you really can succeed and keep your integrity intact? And that doing the right thing will reap benefits down the line? What a bunch of nice messages to send out - (dare I say it) especially today!
Is this really what America wants? My heart is sinking . . . I'm so disappointed. I want to be optimistic, but how can I? What can I say except here is another sympathetic reader who feels and shares your pain and sentiments?
This is pretty powerful writing. "Leaning forward, his shoulders rose up, and his chin down, like he was trying to hide inside himself. I knew that never worked." - and - "Sadness soaked through. More than anything, I wished it would run out from between us, and seep into the carpet." - Lines like this speak to me. I wanted to reach out and hug both of them, with the reassurance that eventuall
Hey, Danny, I'm a stranger here, too (but then again I'm a stranger most anywhere I go) - or at least, I'm a newbie here, but I have pondered the same questions. ...yet what do i say? I can offer words of support, which would (in my mind at least) sound hollow coming from a stranger. I could offer my personal opinion, yet my opinion would be unsolicited. Remember, first of all, that if someone didn't want others to read an
