ah got it :-) new to xml and new to modding in general but loving this game and just messing around changing/adding stuff is just as fun :-) my computer language skills is pretty much Green Screen days... JCL, COBOL, etc... personally this xml is far easier once ya start getting the nuances. :-) thanks for the help there Heaven
hey I like this idea... wanted to do something similar, wasnt sure how to implement it, tried a few ways with yours but no luck so far.. what I want to do is use that method to make a spell (costing 500+ mana havnt decided yet, since its more of an end game thing kinda like them perm stat boosts that take a ton of mana) but this Spell adds 1 Essence slot to the city. Was working on Talents and what not so wanted to do a Medic type Talent that gives a Heal spell that will work for either side about the same strength as the Life heal but more costly mana wise (so yeah for a Kingdom player the Life Spell is still the way to go but as I said this will be unlocked via a talent so if you dont wanna take Life you pay more mana to use it) So anyways.. I dug out the Heal spell code, copy and pasted it to a empty file to look at it.&nbs
Hey thanks for the help seanw3... havnt quite yet figured out the book thing, guess I am missing something ;-p but definitely made some progress during that I figured out how to make some additional character creation talents :-) so now I got some "class elements" that can be chosen on character creation for custom Sovs like a couple extra spells for one trait, a passive and active skill for another :-) was a fun experiment! need to get back to figuring out
OK, uhm kinda new at this so bear with me. CoreItems.xml for the spellbook item. create item with a new unlock.. easy enough, i think, lets call it "Hexes1" and thats about as far as I got... I assume CoreAbilities.xml is where I would put the trait? and for adding the spell/ability (was a good idea i didn't think of that to add multiple to 1 book how would I do that?) to the trait I really have no clue. that can be found in random (most likely rare) rewards. Not quite sure if it is possible, but kind of like the books that teach Fire 1, Earth 1 etc.. Is it as simple as finding those books in the corresponding xml file and mimicking them? For example lets say I want to add "Silver Tongue" to a book so non-diplomats could possibly learn the skill. Or maybe "Bash" since I have never seen that skill pop up in a level screen, only on certain champions. See

LOL I have noticed this too and was baffled... Especially when the enemy sov is using a staff with path of the assassin... just makes me want to facepalm in general. Sure I have only played 2 games now (got destroyed in the first one) but I did notice that ALL the AI Sovs took assassin ;-p
Well not sure about anyone else, but I'm still new to the game (didn't realize this has been goin around)... And I have played 2 games so far and both games it was HARD enough to find land to settle a town on, I would have to string along 3 or 4 outposts between towns to connect them, maybe I have just had really bad luck on the world generation but Since it is so hard to even FIND settlement land I just thought the whole being forced to settle near a forest or river tile as wel
Oh OK, so it is a bug and aware of it. Awesome. Will agree it is quite annoying especially when i find a nice 3grain, 3material, 3essence spot near some forest and a river but not quite in range yet LOL... EDIT: oh not a bug? lol o.O
actually that's an idea as well.. Kohan did that as well. But I was actually getting at lets say i have a bandit, bandit, kitty (quest for stalker cat), and a bandit captain... since Kitty is higher level, its "Kitty's Army" so my icon on the left is of the stalker... Would prefer the 1 level lower Bandit Captain actually being leader and thus his icon on the left (ie my way of telling the difference between scouting throw away units and actually set up armies)<
I noticed this and been wondering if its intentional or just an overlooked bug? Would be nice to be able to build Piers or Logging Camps eventually in town that eventually envelope a wooded/river square in its Zone of Control. Anywyas just figured I would point it out and ask if anyone knows if it's intentional or a known bug or what.

are the vanilla champions still in rotation? thinking of using your mod with vanilla sovs still enabled to really randomize things and so im curious if the vanilla champions are also in rotation or phased out.

1. one thing id like is the ability to assign a leader to the stack of troops on the map (if you can do that i sure havnt found it lol) that way on the left hand side i can see the leaders i appoint and not misc units (why the heck is a bandit archer the top unit of my bandit stack that has a bandit captain?? switch please lol, just an example i had Bears be leaders of champions o.O dude wha?)
