AOW-type combat (Except for the flanking) with FE mechanics is pretty much what I want now. I expect that will have to wait until the next Stardock fantasy TBS.

What's this stuff with Windows 9 causing rage? The last thing I want is for Microsoft to screw the pooch- that will lead to a platform war with PC- and that will be terrible for PC gaming.
The AI gets economic boosts even at the lowest difficulty levels. +25% at the 2nd lowest level for example. That's why you see so many high-lvl units. I really don't like that, because I feel like it forces twinking on my end, and when you start to twink, there's no right amount of twinking. It's easier to play honest against an AI that is playing by mostly the same rules you are (like Stardock games) <
Quoting XWerewolfX, reply 93 It would be nice to get some more information. I know things are busy, but communication has really dropped off as of late. I think GalCiv 3 is taking up most of the dev's attention at the moment.
It's two mostly separate teams, just a few shared folks- think it might even be just Derek
Above post is pretty much how I feel. That said, if Brad could just make the tactical AI in LH as good as it is in AOW. It feels like that's the largestmissing element.
Crazy idea: I'd like to see ideology trees be purchased, then go down the trees. Maybe a Xeno Ethics line of techs that allows unlocking more trees. Maybe some trees require a bit of multiple types of points, like some pragmatic and some ruthless? I agree that you should be able to partake of all 3 types (benevolent/pragmatic/ruthless), however, the less specialized you are, the less likely you are to get big positive events. &nbs
Call them, tell them this is not your debt, maybe give them the address of where they went, and tell them under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, they are not to contact you again. If they do, it's grounds for a lawsuit, and a pretty big one. clarkhoward.com should have some advice on how to go about this.
Brad's reasoning was simply the market spoke- and a majority of the userbase for FE was Steam, and keeping 2 versions took manpower away from other stuff. I don't like the decision, but I can see the logic. I just wish LH could run without Steam just by clicking the .exe. Not a huge deal, I generally trust Stardock enough to assume that if in the unlikely event Steam screwed me over I'd be taken care of. &nbs
This is something that should be implemented.
I am hearing the AOW3 AI is improved- they've taken a couple of pages out of Stardock's book in some areas, such as multithreaded AI and a better version of the cloth map.
Couple of questions: Elemental 15 means delayed until 2015? Second one : will it be 64-bit? (Please say yes)
I don't have a problem with Firefox- it does what I need it to. The only downside is it's a resource hog, but that's not a big deal these days.
LH is more likely to go on sale first, if that helps.
One fix would be to make Broken Loyalties scale to the level of AI gold bonus.
You might want to take a look at Age of Wonders 3 as well, which comes out in about 18 days or so. That's got the leveling as well, and looks super-promising. That's not saying you should forget about LH , it's a worthy game, and it's going to have expansions and a new game this year as well. (You could wait for the new LH later on this year) It does come up on sale fairly often, if you scour across the discounting sites- you should be
Yeah, I would like to see independents added to the game like what the original WOM had, if they could be made interesting (they weren't in WOM)
There are plenty of good devs out there- they just get overshadowed by the bad ones. Folks like Lab Zero deserve respect as well.
Answers to the questions in the post DLC frequency- quarterly. Monthly DLC may not be substantial enough, longer DLC doesn't come out frequently enough DLC preference- I like all of those, but if I had to prioritize: d/c/a/e/b/f If you're doing quarterly DLC- price-wise, for the $5 price you'd like for DLC- I'd expect 2 of these to be included in the price. To be honest,
Scenario: Brad gets hit by an alien armed with a stupid ray, and decides to hold a lottery- winner gets to design another game in the universe, using the same engine, with a reasonable budget and timeframe (one year to get game in a releasable state). You win. What do you guys do? What I would do: Try to make a new game, alternate universe as not to screw things up Factions: Kingdom Faction
What I find the most fun is building up heroes with levels and loot and then breaking things with those heroes. It's a big reason why I'm enjoying TOME so much right now. In general, I love building in your games- in GC2, it was building up planets and bigger ships, In LH, the heroes are the ships. It's why I never liked the hero XP split, it meant building less heroes.
One change I'd like to see in the new patch- option to disable certain factions from AI play (mostly to get rid of the Dead showing up as an AI/free lunch in game)
Is the 2.0 update and the new game that you guys mentioned for later this year two separate things, or will 2.0 be the new game?
I always feel like if I have to cheat/exploit to beat an AI, it's not playing the game, it's playing the AI. Generally, super-resource bonuses force the player to start exploiting.
My issues are more fundamental. I don't think that's enough. We need restrictions on what ISPs can do- serious ones, and states should not be allowed to restrict municipalities from doing it themselves. (the latter would be sufficient to stop the problem)
The Kochs do fund it heavily- Americans for Prosperity was heavily behind the NC effort. In more bad and disgusting news- Comcast is making a stake now to be an even worse monopoly- they just agreed to buy out Time Warner. We need federal involvement at this time for the sake of the markets and avoiding corruption.
