First of all, let me state that the unfettered and unorganized rant that was my last post helped me sort my thoughts a little and ease the transition back into regular blogging. As in exercise, once you cease doing something for an extended period it becomes more difficult to motivate yourself to resume it. The whole "where do I start" thing always comes into play. We

I couldn't agree more if I tried. A pessimist sees the beer mug as half-empty A optimist sees the mug as half-full. A realist sees the mug and realizes that it will probably take ten more before the girl at the end of the bar will be good-looking enough to hit on.

Geezer: There is too much knee-jerk reactionary politics. You are right, the 50% just hate all politicians and people of authority. But I, like my father before me will always remain independent so I can vote with my heart and my brain...not my dick or party loyalties. keep it real.

I assume the SSG stands for Staff Sergeant? Tommy Franks is a good man. And sometimes that is the best compliment you can give someone.

I have found myself in the most unique of situations...creatively stifled. Wanting to write, to vent, to rage and tear. To theoretically expose my ass (as it were) to the world and then get mad when someone notices a pimple. Conversationally starved, emotionally overwhelmed but too tired to write about it...and its killing me. Despite my penchant for discussing, in t

Once again, it is in the HUMOR section. I was largely trying to be funny! And to be technical what really separates us from the lower animals is our ability to question our own existence. Mac

Dan: It was placed in the humor section for a reason. lt is largely a collection of recycled jokes to make you laugh...not agree with it. The ability to laugh at ourselves is what distinguishes us from Monkeys slinging their feces at each other. Believe me, when it comes to doghouses I'm in it all the time so I am no exception.

I am so tired of male-bashing. Everywhere I go I listen to women tearing guys apart. We are pigs, stupid, insensitive, clueless as to their needs and incapable of understanding them. And in response to this I have to say that we are not stupid ! With the possible exception of Pepsi vs. Coke there is no longer standing debate than that of the differences

It's not that I'm beating myself up, it's somewhat akin to talking to a dumbass. Despite all your eforts, you're just not getrting through. It's frustration plain and simple. I'll live.

Yesterday was a day I would like to forget. I had a wonderful but long week at work including two days of travel. I could not wait to get home, and as usual traffic was keeping me from where I needed to be. I fought traffic for 2 1/2 hours to travel 65 miles in great anticipation of seeing the family, drink a few beers and watch some Red Sox pre-season play with my se

And don't think that I, in all of my conservatism, haven't speculated what it would be like if the air force had to have a bake sale to buy bombers and the schools had what they needed. And what the 87 billion we gave to Iraq would do for our own people. I'm not that hard-core am I ?

Best of luck on the job, the whole job hunt process sucks. Kudos for putting family first. I work a ton of hours and I miss my four children every minute of every day. I am doing it for them but I'd rather be with them. Again, good luck and you may be interested in the post I will be putting up later tonight about family. I'm not all politics!

Nicky G: Thank you, you get me. I'm too old to screw around and young enough to enjoy the ability to "agree to disagree". In actuality, this post stemmed because someone asked me to explain the difference between the two and it was ahrder than I thought. mac

No, I'm opening a dialogue here. I encourage opinions and try to stimulate thought and conversation. When did I say I didn't believe in taxes? I don't believe in oppressive taxes or irresponsible government. Disagree all you want but don't lump me into a category.

You have an amazing flow to your work but that poem in particular (and I read them all) also described both the awkwardness of the lustful encounter, the fantasy associated with the produce isle and the craving of beautiful strangers that are only a zipper and a hello away. I am banned from at least two supermarkets in the Northeast! Great work. Mac

I have noticed that people use the words "Conservative" and "Liberal" quite a bit. In the interest of having fun I sometimes toss around the words myself because I enjoy making people squirm. I am actuaIly an Independent Voter and I find labels damaging. When discussing religion you fall into distinct categories; atheist or believer. When discussing race issues like a

Brad: Kudos to a great article. I reflected the same way on our choice of President when the towers fell. I question how any Democrat who worries about the International community over the safety of Americans would fare. Including Kerry. He did something about it and it is hard to second guess without historical precedent. In life you can define the moment, or the moment can define you. good stuff

You're preaching to the choir my friend, I'm a veteran of the first Gulf War. I am only trying to take a stance that reflects all points of view. I am in a uniting mood not a dividing one for a change. I believe that all of the troops do believe in their cause and only resent that their hands are tied from fighting a real war and to shoot only when shot at, like 'Nam. I also support the war, I only wish it was better executed. But I do stand behind th

Thanks for the welcome from all of you, I think it will be fun here. I think you already get the impression that I want you to know me and what I am about and I will look into your blogs for insight about you as well. Content is one thing, but your viewpoint is entirely your own.
