The Boomerang (TV) Network is going downhill.

Most of the good cartoons aren't on anymore.

One of the best things about changing cable/ satellite service providers is discovering new channels. In my family's recent switch, we sadly lost the Game Show Network, but gained Boomerang (among others).

Boomerang is a channel (which is an extension of Cartoon Network) that had been playing "classic" cartoons. When I began to receive Boomerang, I was happy to see lots of "Popeye", "Looney Tunes", "Tom and Jerry", "Underdog", and the like.

For some reason, the programming staff at Boomerang dumped most of the classic cartoons in favor of newer cartoons made from the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s. They're playing crap like: "Dexter's Laboratory", "The Smurfs", "The Snorks", "Baby Looney Tunes", and some recent "Scooby Doo" remakes. Basically boring, mundane, pedestrian material, mixed with other awful mediocrity.

I already sent an e-mail complaint. Hopefully mine will be a "drop in the bucket", so Boomerang can eventually return to the golden age of cartoons rather than trying to get by on that Turner network-funded crap that they're trying to push these days.

I would have loved to see that network!  Not now, but when you first started seeing it.  I miss the classics.

Even before I had it, they were showing "The Superfriends" daily. I would have loved to see that. One of my favorite Superfriends memories was one time when Aquaman was moving his mouth, but Batman's voice came out. They really slapped that show together, didn't they?

I agree about everything but The smurfs. "The Smurfs" were/are not crap.

I liked Boomerang when we had a larger satellite package, but to be honest, I don't miss it now that it's gone from our TV.
For the record, Boomerang is owned by Turner Broadcasting and will continue to play "Turner network-funded crap" as they have in the past.
