my version down graded?

Through Stardock central I installed .90[b].012 about an hour ago. I just restarted Stardock and I am being 'updated' to 0.81.006. I installed that and now I am being updated back to 0.90[b].012.

Anyway just thought I'd report this weirdness.

Game looks great. Keep up the good work.

That is not an upgrade, Stardock already explained that is something wrong with 1 file. the version 0.90 it is only for Gamma testers. So the must updated version for all the rest is 0.81.006.

Please excuse our confusion in regards to the versioning of the GalCiv II Beta.  We are in the process of staging a private gamma build.  But unfortunately we have experienced a few hiccups with syncronizing our servers that appears to becausing many headaches.

Because of this problem you are probably seeing a new build available (available 0.090(b).xxx) but there are no files available for download.  The current beta version available is 0.81.006 which is the same build as v0.80 BETA 5 Release (December 15, 2005).

The new gamma builds 0.090.xxx or greater will only be available to a select group of private beta testers.

For the short term the Chicago server (for Stardock Central) has been disabled while we get all our files properly syncronized.  Please use the California server.  Tools->Settings (Internet section, Current Server Option).  We hope that once the servers are properly syncronized that Stardock Central will report the proper versions of the game that are available to you.

Our apologies for this inconvenience.

pah, bring on the final build but give us pre-pay guys and galls (how many? 20, 30?) access to the Gamma as a treat but NOT the bug feedback forum so that we can enjoy the gamma as a bit orf a reward - be flexible and magnanamous!

If we choose to chat about, pro's and con's bugs etc on your forum thro 'unofficial channels' then just ignore us, its not like there are so many of us that we could 'dis' the game is it? plus everyone here is a GalCiv fanatic anyway!. Its not like its mobbed with griefers or an open beta release or whatever is it ?

I think thats what is stirring up here, re-pay and GalCiv2 beta testers not incuded in gamma feel hurt and excluded - am I way off?

If so ignore me/ban me from the forum

I guess they took your advice. I now have the gamma version and it is neat. The new intro is in and lots of changes, graphics, etc.

I got a multi media update, but the game is still at beta 5 - oh well, one can but try.
