changing weather location, help!

sorry if this seems really obvious to everyone but i'm stuck, plz help...
i have got a widget to display weather forcasts but although it seems to be working i can't set it for where i am; in fact i cant get it set up for the uk at all. i live in lancaster, uk and can get the weather forcast from uk.weather.yahoo.com but cant get the widget to work with this.

i'm afraid it doesnt, i have tried that approach but it doesnt seem to work for anywhere in the uk let alone here. i just get 'not found' displayed

If you give us a link to the widget you're using, perhaps someone can figure out what's going wrong.

i'm currently using jaidaksghost's 'Legacy Weather' https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=240&LibID=34
but i've tried using a diff widget and i still have the same problem, very puzzling!

UKXX0581 works here, using that widget. The problem must be on your end. Do you have a firewall blocking the connection?

no neither setting it to allow the connection, nor disabling it altogether works. so not a firewall problem
