Startup Problems

Won't Start

I've had the paid version of windowblinds 5 for about a week and a half now and it's been working perfectly. However, I've started having a problem with it today. I turn on my computer and windows opens but the taskbar continuously loads...basically I'm not able to do anything with it. So I log off and log back on and the taskbar loads fine, however it's windows classic. So basically, everytime I want to open my original taskbar, which is Dreamland by JJ ying, I have to turn on my computer, sign off, sign back on, and apply it manually. Any ideas on how to fix this problem or why it's occuring? Any help would be appreciated

I'm having a similiar problem which only started happening with WB500[b].06. What happens is when I start my computer it loads the normal XP taskbar and there is no windowblinds tray icon, however if I log off and back on WB loads normal. Have done all the normal uninstall, reboot, install, reboot and it still does the same thing. Anyone have any suggestions.

When I install WB5 on my machine, reboot it, and it works. The problem is when I shut down the computer and turn it back on, it's in windows classic. When I try to open WB5 I get a message that says I have to reboot in order for it to work. Even if I select reboot from the message, it comes back up in windows classic. I have unistalled and reinstalled numerous time. Any help would be appreciated

My problem looks similiar to this, also it is not the very same. My machine (DELL Precision M70 notebook) hangs each time on startup, when I change docking mode. The explorer process then hangs and I must logout and logon again, then everything is fine until I dock/undock again.

I also have a licensed version and did the past updates to windowblinds ... problem exists for 2-3 months now. Any hints are highly appreciated. I am just about to deinstall the whole stuff

Since the update to the released version I have had a porblem as well. The task bar is very slow to load and I can't click on anything while it loads. Then the majority of my taskbar icons are not there even though they are loaded and showing in Task Manager as running. I have always had the paid for versions. Also I no longer have the XP style theme. Only the classic. The XP style is no where to be found, period. I sure would like it back as well as my icons. I have never downloaded any SD products from anywhere other than Stardock Central. I have gone back to another version, but I don't know which one anymore. It says it's 5.00 build 54X86 on the taskbar icon. It is one of the few that still shows. I have done everything except reformat, and that is going to be next unless...Here are my specs.

Same type of issue but am running the free version.
Have an IBM T42 w/ XP Pro and 1GB.
My task bar will load only in the classic style and only on restart.
(likes to hang taskbar load on initial startup)

Have played with different load configs and can get it to load without hanging but only if I turn off the IBM UltraNav and Thinkvantage.

Back to modi msstyles until I see this issue go away.

Similar problem. Just upgraded to Blinds 5 and nothing works! I keep getting a "Select Data Source" dialog box. Does anyone know what that's about? Plz help

Select Data Source" dialog box

I thought that error went away a few build back when Stardock migrated to a flat file for skin "database."

Did you install via SDC. Suggest that first.

Post the system information from the WB config. That may assist in troubleshooting.
