Transfer pop between planet

I am not able to transfer pop from a planet to anoother, in tha same solar system...
I read the manual, but something is wrong...

I understand that you can't do it with transports as they distribute evenly between planets.
Use colony ships instead.

They do load proportionately from all planets but I guess it's one way to do it.

This may be a little off topic, but, is it possible to park a colony ship (back) in orbit without landing on a planet? I've found myself wanting to do this a few times now, and was rudely reminded that I can not.

If there is a way, please let me know.

Tried to do that as well but don't think it's possible. You have to colonize something when you return to orbit.
