Activation Blues...

I can't use Multiplicity anymore :(

My hard drive on my primary computer recently failed unrecoverably. I got a new hard drive and one of the fist things I installed after Windows was (of course) Stardock central. I then installed Multiplicity Pro and was presented with an activation screen...I entered my serial number and email and was presented with "Maximum activations from this IP reached". Not sure what I'm supposed to do here. In a depserate measure, I uninstalled Multiplicity Pro from every client machine, hoping that they would somehow deactivate..no luck. So no I am left with no working instances of multiplicity. I can't activate anything. I even tried registering through stardock central and was presented with "account update failed"...what gives? I appreciate the need to safeguard against piracy, but I've become somewhat dependent upon this software as my setup is basically built around using it, so not being able to use it causes quite the problem for me. On top of everything, Stardock support takes up to 2 days to reply apparently? So question is...how do I deactivate these instances of multiplicity that I don't even have installed anymore????

There is no way to deactivate instances of MP, you will need support to reset it for you.

I have reset the activation records for your account. You should be set for the moment.

Frankly, even with the way your IP's have varied since the purchase, it shouldn't have set off the flags. Will see if we can find out why it was blocked for these recent reinstalls.

Note also that you can save the sig.bin for an app from a given OS install and you should be all set if you drop it back in the directory (like from a backup/restore).

Thanks a lot for resetting the account. I'm not sure what you mean by my IP varying. I have 5 machines at home and until a few weeks ago I have only ever used multiplicity there. I do uninstall/reinstall my machine(s) every few months or so...but my WAN IP does not change all that often. A few weeks ago I got a laptop which I take to work with me, I thought I might try Multiplicity there. I figured 5 machines at home + the laptop + my work machine = 7 and so I thought that would be fine since MP Pro is meant to control up to 7 machines. Maybe I misunerstood something there...Anyhow, thank you for resetting the account. And if you can provide any clarification as to how this all works and how I can avoid being in the situation in the future, it would be most welcome.
One other thing that may be noteworthy...I contacted SD support to change my email address on my account, whcih they did. I have noticed since I renewed my OD subscription recently, that it is now back to my old email, not sure if this is relevant to anything but thought I'd mention it. Sorry for the long post, and thanks again

One last thing I'd like to add/suggest...I have used other software (eg. Kavoom!) which uses online activation as well, however it allows you to deactivate the software before you uninstall or format etc. Perhaps a feature such as this would be worth considering?
