Downloading tips

Okay, so here's the deal:

The drengin server is overwhelmed which is something we'll have to take care of next week.

But Drengin CM does resume aborted downloads. So if you do get some error, you can exit the Drengin game manager, reload it and try to continue where you left off.

We'll be looking at things more on Monday to see what we can do.

Just a few more tips:

How Drengin works (to my understanding) is that when you load it up, it looks at all the game files you have. It then compares those files to what's on the server. If you have a missing or outdated one, it will flag that an update is available and pick up the missing files.

So during downloading when things are really really maxed like right now one of two things can go wrong:

(1) The server times out while on a download. The solution to this is to just reload Drengin and it'll continue where it left off.

(2) One of the files got corrupted during donwload and gives an error when it tries to decompress. The solutoin to this is to find that file and delete it and then reload drengin and it will try to grab just that single file.

In hindsight, we should have moved things to the new server which has vastly more bandwidth. We'll try to do that on Monday. But if you have patience, you can just let it download. I'm downlodaing it from home and it's definitely slow going.
