Haven't played awhile and need help with latest updates.

I haven't had time to play for awhile and not really sure of the version that I currently have. When I booted up my last save of the game, I did see Options 1.04 at the top of the screen. Is this the version that I currently have?

Also, does just accessing Stardock automatically update me with the latest version or do I have to manually download the latest version? If so, where do I do that from and what is currently the latest version?

Sorry for all the questions but I have been quite a bit busy of late... it runs in spells. However, I do want to keep updated with the latest and greatest for when I find the time to play. Actually, the end of this week looks good... LOL

1st question, your version: I think yes, that would be the version you have (but I'm not a tech master, and I too have been away for a while)

2: if you mean stardock central, you just need to click on the update button in the software page. Using SDC is by far the best & easiest way to update (at least that has been my experience). When you connect with SDC, you can immediately see what version you have and what is the latest available. Then you just click update and voilà!
You can also manually download the 1.05 patch at this adress:

My advice is use SDC. It's a great program, and quite easy to use. However if you don't have it already installed, the easier would be to use the standalone version at that address.

By the way, when I came back to GC after a 3 month pause (too much work to do (:( ) I found that the AI was much much better: so don't feel bad if the first games starts badly. It took me a few ones to get used to it and not just taking victory for granted.

When I logged onto Stardock Central (I have it installed) it brings me to a "product News" page. On that page it does not even list version 1.05 letalone tell me my version currently is. It has a lot about skins, other products, and some new reviews but no version 1.05.

Needless to say, I'm a bit disappointed in Stardock Central. What could be the problem?

I guess I could just download the patch but I really want Stardock Central to work... it would be so much easier and a lot nicer.

And, for the moment, the patch version in the downloads section of this website is the same as the Stardock Central update. At least until the expansion pack beta trickles down to the Stardock client, that is.

IIRC the page you describe is the "product news": I can display it if I click on the news button "News" in stardock central. But on its left in the "task bar" you shoud have a "software" button, where under Drengin.net you have the list of games you can download. If you select Galciv, then your current version and the update available should display. (I think you must have your galciv serial registered with sdc under "tools").
