How is our patience tested this day?

Well we all know that this new site is in need of extermination. There are bugs every day and it seems as if they are always different. Today I am trying to submit a skin, and the page for that just loads forever and nothing happens. No time out, no error, just looks as if it's loading. Throbber is throbbing, the whole bit. For a half an hour it loads and still nothing. This site is REALLY cool, but I think that the patience of many is being tried.

Yer darn right...took me about 10 seconds.

Your ISP must be on a go-slow...

This is the only site that does this Jafo...my pc and isp work fine. The front page loads in a snap...images and all...then the rest takes forever. Everywhere else I go I don't have any problems whatsoever.

Try a 'proper' cache clean....manually is good...

My patience today isn't too bad. I'm going to take it easy and get things done at my pace. I'm also going to call off school today so I don't have to drive 2hours to get there, sit for 5, and drive another 2 back. I can get alot of work done in that time here. The work will still be for that class though, but I'll at least have it ready for next week to turn in.

The site, Just having issues with the marathon thread still, nothing else, so it's not bad.

Hello everyone.  I have to apologize for all the issues that have been occuring around here.  I do have a team that I work with but unfortunately we have not been able to address all the issues as fast as we would like to.  But WinCustomize is not the only thing we are working on.  Just to give you an idea my team of 4 (including me) is responsible for:

WinCustomize.com, JoeUser.com, Stardock.com, GalCiv.com, Galciv2.com, Totalgaming.net, PoliticalMachine.com, XPThemes.com, Stardock Central Servers, store.stardock.com, All database servers all internal database applications and probably a few others that I forgot.  So we are not always spending all our time on WinCustomize.  We have to split it up between all of our projects.

So there are times that we are busy working on other projects too and can not always address an issue in a timely manner.  I don't want to use the other projects as an excuse but it is a reality.

I know for myself that I am unable to find the time to read the forums on a regular basis so I am not always up to date on what bugs/issues are occuring.  Too many times a problem as been occuring for a couple of days and people assume we know about it but unfortunately we do not.  The best thing to do is send an email to me at [email protected] and to [email protected] (aka FlyinHawaiin aka King Punjabi) and describe the problem in detail.

I know you all have been patience and it is greatly appreciated.  We are doing are best to keep everything running at full speed and will continue to work hard as we can.

Jafo...what exactly do "you" consider a "proper" cache cleaning? I read all sorts of articles on the subject and get many different opinions on it.

I use ZtreeWin to log the folders...then I tag everything in the cache...including the read-only stuff .... and do a global delete...including the protected folders as well.

I dump the lot.

IE regenerates the folders as needed anyway...

Everything is running properly here now, able to rate skins again, the forums are working right for me on keeping track of whats read and unread and so forth, and the site feels like it's loading a lot more consistent, instead of super slow, then super fast and everything in between.

Right now I'm using CCleaner, and I've used ilSystemWiper a few times as well. I checked out zTreeWin and it looks pretty good, but money is tight right now. And since they switched over to the Chicago server it seems to have solved the problems I was having for the moment.

none of the buttons (image, bold, quote ...) nor the smilies are working.

I'm back to the page not found thing again. Go to one page, hit the back button and poof. I have to back out of the site completely in order to go forward.

I've had about 7 or 8 of those "page not found" errors today. And the envelops are STILL acting up. I understand traffic is heavy on the site right now but I thought the subscribers had access to the faster servers. 2 months after launch and the site is getting WORSE.

BTW Thank you T-Man and crew for holding the site together as much as humanly possible.

How is our patience tested this day?

Every day would be more in place, I think.

¤ The old site was faster. "Subscribers have access to faster servers." Two months ago, maybe... Some single pages here load faster, but some never load, and I have to click through more pages to get to where I want.

¤ The new site looks like crap. Almost all the site-skins on the old site looked better than wc2k5.

¤ Can't save the enhanced library view. (Another two extra clicks to get things the way I want it)

¤ I am an Object Desktop & Wincustomize subscriber and don't care if T-Man and his team have to spend most their time working on other projects and sites like JoeUser, GalCiv, Totalgaming, PoliticalMachine, XPThemes or whatever. I have paid for a product which has not been delivered the way it should since December. How's that for patience? Will the subscribtion time be extended as compensation, since the product is not delivered in time? (That'll be day!) They had time enough to add new sections to the library to generate more hits and get new subscribers, so the money comes first more often at WC than ever before, it seems.

¤ The e-mails are not showing on the personal pages for those who want it. How can that be so hard to fix?

¤ The rating system sucks. Can't see how many rated and five points makes it more difficult to rate. What was so terribly wrong with the old ten point system that everybody seeemed to appreciate?

¤ The stats on the personal pages are worng.

¤ Some threads in the forums and comment section under "my skins" takes forever to be marked as read

¤ "The best thing to do is send an email to me at [email protected] and to [email protected] (aka FlyinHawaiin aka King Punjabi) and describe the problem in detail." What planet or drug are you on? The problems here are as old as the new site, for heavens sake!

...and I could go on and on, and you ask how our patience is tested? No, I'm not mad. Just had to get it out of my system.

and you ask how our patience is tested?

I asked, Yrgal, also out of frustration.
