Imagine my shock,
when the mercury fell right out of the thermometer and froze up my locks,
but my car still purrs up and down these icy salt covered blocks,
It rocks, like a geology lesson,
what game to play this afternoon with kids is what I'm guessin',
maybe basketballto see me full court pressin',
Well God bless 'em, for every sneeze and cough,
cause if you're illin' you should be fillin' your mouth with throat drops,
I'm pullin' out all the stops, and claiming right-of-way,
and puttin' extra blankets on the bed in which I lay,
and like Elliot Smith I'm the needle in the hay,
but I ain't starin' down the end of a barrel,
but if I'm in a shotgun wedding I'm inviting my homegirl Carol,
whenever work threatens me she saves me from peril,
and for that I owe a lot thanks,
and I sure wish I could play king of the mountain on 20 foot tall snowbanks,
but despite what anyone may have told ya,
it really doesn't snow here anymore in minnesota,
I'll show ya, the difference between black and white,
it's the grey area inbetween the day and the night,
so when the sun sets on a perfectly frigid friday,
I'll be confident in saying that I'll worked it all my way.
