Can I simply downoad it?

I'm trying to put this stuff on my 2yr old's PC which isn't connected to the internet. I purchased the $50 version (of Object Desktop I believe) and would like to simply download everything so I can burn it to a CD and take to her computer.

Do I have to run the application that manages the download and installation of everything?

Is there one big download I can login and get to that will give me everything available based on my purchase?

You could archive em but I'm not sure if you can install from those files.

You do realize that you just asked for help with a crime don't you?

I think you can get the CD version for like $5.00 if you have an OD subscription, but not sure.

NT - I think it's ok to install on multiple PC's you own around the house, just not to a friend's or co-workers PC..

I knew your new name change would be an issue between us SBGFX. Was only kidding, it was the "burn it to CD" I was kidding about.

The official line is that as long as programs are in use only by one person at a time, then it is fine to have them installed on a reasonable number of computers, such as your work, home and laptop ones.

Practically speaking, I suspect it is OK to do what you want and use a copy on your kid's PC, as it's keeping it in the immediate family. Sharing that copy with your friendly neighbour would not be so OK. Follow your conscience on this one.

To do the installation, create Archives of the files in Stardock Central by right-clicking on each and selecting Archive/Selected app (and associated files, if you want them, which I think are save games, skins, etc). Then burn the archives in your Stardock\SDCentral\BACKUP directory to CD, along with a copy of Stardock Central from here: http://storage.stardock.com/files/stardockcentral20.exe

Once you have the CD, take it over to the other computer, install Stardock Central, and go to File/Archive/Restore, then select each archive. They should be restored onto that computer.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your subscription!

Thanks for the information, I'm sure this helps more people than just me.

Regarding installations, I don't want to run it on my pc, just my daughter's. Using Object Desktop, I can create huge icons that she can't move around, only require a single click to launch, and hide the start menu, etc.

I'd just like to download everything to ease my installation pain.

Now if I could only use it to stop her from moving windows around. I've got an application that she uses to color (fill in between lines) but even "maximized" you can move the window around...it's like it's not really maximized. This bites us almost everytime she sits down at the pc.

I am 55 and don't have everything installed! Start slow, maybe IconPackager and IconX for the big icons. DesktopX - kids desktop.
