IconX informations needed

What is exactly IconX ? Is it a stand alone soft (mean don't need to install desktopX to run it ?) Anything to go with IconPackager or Icondeveloper ?
Thanks for giving as simple informations as possible because of my poor english

Yes, Icon X is basically the icon enhancements from Desktop X that are now separate. This allows you to have your icons change color, grow, be animated and all without running Desktop X.

Yes. The Enhanced version of IconX let you choose any PNG to assign in the place of the default icon.
The Shareware version will let you apply the PNG, but it won't be remembered the next time IconX is loaded.
