Thank you Valhalla.
Bonnie has long left Fla. It didnt affect much the west coast as it did Jacksonville.
It is 3:00 pm right now and aside from some gusty winds and a few clouds, there is not much going on on the Miami area.
Charlie is now a category 4 hurricane and heading up the coast of Tampa Bay which worries me a lot since my girl is in a hospital near the Tampa coast line.

I live in Greenville, NC It looks like the hurricane is coming towards us now.

Things are okay here at the moment! 'Course that big blow-hard Charley is just comin' on shore down by Port Charlotte....things may get pretty windy here afterwhile! (Like that doesn't ever happen around here- )

/me wonders if Mr. IPlural got all his hatches battened down and headed inland to avoid Charley and met him anyway????? Be Safe One & All!

Wouldn't happen to be TGH? If so, from what I understand the hospital was evacuated early thursday.

No she is at Suncoast. When I last spoke to my mother in law, the hospital was not evacuated. But it seems the hurricane has divert from the Tampa area, so Im more at ease. I just hope it doesnt hit in-land so hard.
Be safe all and take all the possible caution.

it hit about 65 miles south of us here in Tampa Bay, I live on the north side of the main entrence to the Bay.
we've dodged a monster which is great, but saying that it sucks to know that others got hammered by it.

Only death so far is some dumb fool who waited till the last minute and then decided to throw his family in their SUV and attempt to out run the storm. Winds blew the truck off the interstate and into a tree killing the youngest daughter, think she was 3 or 4, everyone else lived.... *sigh*...

If you want or need to stay then you stay, if not leave well in advance....

turns out it was a mini van...

eh and it wasn't a tree after all but a Delivery Truck was blown over in front or on top of them...

still...

I live in Greenville, NC we are starting to get heavy wind and storms. There predicting 60 mile an hr winds to hit here soon!

We are under a tropical starm warning here in Maryland with top winds hitting 50 or more. What is starting to worry me is this thing is projected to come across the Bay,which, depending on the tides, means massive flooding
Sad news IP indeed and I am sure there will be more stories simular to what you said. It is amazing how your area was untouched, given tha close proximity of Charley

/me reporting in here! Finally made it back online....Charley came pretty close here, but all is well and we are just fine.....with all praise and Glory to the Blood of Jesus and Father God's protection! Mercy, it sure was pretty windy!

We lost power Friday night about 9:30 or so, and the phone went out in the night.....lights came back on about 24 hrs. later, and the phone came back just this morning.....I thank God we are safe and sound. Lots of trees down around here, but the buildings are fine....except for some small things missing like tacked on ornaments, shutters etc. I'm gonna try and see how the place I work faired, as not so far away from it a Days Inn lost it's entire roof! Ought to be interesting for the next few days, weeks and months down here!

So, how is everyone else doing now that Charley has gone?
