The War! - GameCube, DreamCast vs Xbox,PS2

I don't think it's that easy to answer. You gotta look more into specs, available games, features etc. The X-Box has the best graphics, then Gamecube and then Playstation. You can play games online with the X-Box, I only think 1 game is playable online on Gamecube. I have a Gamecube myself, and I'm quite pleased with it. I don't play games online at all, so it serves my needs.

Ok, I can answer this question best. I have had all three for 2 years. Im online with Xbox and playstation. The best overall console is the Xbox, hands down. However, they all have there advantages. I seem to find myself playing Xbox the most, and the games are more mature than the other,s. Xbox is for sure the best online console of them all too. Plus, with the release of Halo 2 coming on Nov 9th. People who dont have an Xbox will be buying it just for that game. Do yourself a favor, buy the Xbox and grab Halo part one, Splinter cell part 1 and 2, Rainbow Six for online first person shooter fun, Project Gotham Racing 2 for a rush, and then kick back untill Nov 9th and then go get Halo 2 and you will think you own a little piece of heaven. Only go for the game cube if you have kids, If so get Metroid for you and Zelda for your kids. Play both and then throw the thing away because you've seen all they have to offer.

More free advice: Don't buy a console. Upgrade your PC and play PC games because a PC will always have better graphics and speed. Most popular games are also available for the PC.

Get a PC and if you wana play on the road get the PSP
Think about it a high end pc graphics card costs more then an overall gaming console.

Go outside! Before you buy a new PC, get hooked on downloading themes, Buy tons of software, and then have nightmares about skinning.

XBOX....By Far the best of all suggestions...to upgrade your PC for gaming would be way to much. I have experience with the PS2, PC and XBOX...XBOX has the best graphics in my opinion.

Then again Xbox is a pc

I Know Buying a console would not be wise. Only High Quality PC Counts. Besides why go for a PS2 and Xbox when PcSX2 and CXBX are around. ( Both Emus )

BTW i also love PSP
but its not avaliable in Pakistan Yet.

There have been a couple responses here putting down the gamecube. Its only real fault is not embracing online play. It can't play DVD's either, but personally I don't find that to matter all that much.
The real way to pick a console is to look at the games out for it and decide which games you prefer.
PS2 has by far the biggest library, but there are also more dingers in there because of that, though still plenty of good titles.
Xbox has a few good titles but caters more to adults in my view, though that isn't a bad thing. Xbox aside from Halo doesn't seem to have many gotta have titles.
Gamecube has been overlooked by many but has a well-rounded library. Certainly those who like Metroid, Zelda or Mario will much prefer Gamecube. There are more kid games, but there are plenty of other games as well. The only thing is lack of online play and some developers don't put their titles on the Gamecube because they feel it won't sell as well there.

Of course I own a Gamecube so lean towards it. The other machines are good as well though and as I said I think a decision should be based mostly on the kind of games you like more than simply which is the most powerful graphically. Also I prefer the Gamecube controller over the other controllers. One other advantage the Gamecube has is its cheaper than the other two systems.
