To skin or not to skin??

I've been a registered user of NextStart for a few years now.
The program is excellent and serves my purpose.
I've produced a few skins over a period of time but have noticed the number of downloads falling.
I'm really curious to know exactly how many people still actually use NextStart?

I have workshelf running anytime my computer is booted. I love it, I wouldn't be without it!

NS is a great app. Always enjoyed skinning it too.
I think the reason it kinda dropped off is that development for it was halted for a period because Jorge had some personal issues he had to take care of.
I think he's back working at it again now though, so hopefully we'll see it get more popular again.

If you take into account that the people that make the skins are usually those that use the program, you could say that the user base has stabilised or people are just happy with the skins they are using now.

Hey Arnie! Funny you should start this thread. I downloaded 3.1 just 2 days ago to check out where NS is these days.............. quickly went back to HoverDesk.  :)

But, I'm a little confused....... are you thinking of not skinning NS any longer, because your downloads are dwindling? Is that why you skin? For downloads? That doesn't sound like you.

Not really Randy. It was merely a matter of curiosity as to how many people use the program
The download rate is the only way for me to guage the popularity.
You know me, I'll continue to skin for the pleasure of it.
I've always said that I skin for me and if others like what I do that's great.

I use NS and WS, won't ever NOT use them. Great programs and Valhalla makes some of the best skins for them

Next Start introduced me to skinning,gave me the bug.I never skinned it myself because I was new to graphics programs.Once I found WB skinned more I never really thought about it much.It was great at what it did tho.
