Help A New Kid

I am new to this but want to learn.

All I want to do is replace the grey background that makes up most applications. eg Below the title bar of control panel it's grey. Below the title bar of Microsoft Word it's grey. etc etc. It seems that you can have any colour so long as it is grey. How do I replace this with a colour of my choosing. Can you somehow get the PC to replace the grey in every application or do you do it one for one program at a time.

Very gratefull for any info

With Skin Studio you can change it to any color you want. There is a free version, here:

Hi sjder - right click on your desktop, choose properties, then the appearance tab and then choose the advanced option. You will be presented with a box containing the elements of the desktop,active/inactive boxes etc and below the colours they are presently set at - if you click on the box/title bar of your choice you will then be able to change its colour using the buttons underneath.

I think that made sense and should help

as for additional programs.. the workarea in photoshop or the workarea in office programs, if you use windowblinds you can assign a background in user overrides
