Litestep - help (apologies for the length of post)

hi guys - just come back to litestep after a few years away from it, been using astonshell and talisman - (both cool btw but cost money ).....whats happened to ls??? my fond memories are fading....fast. i cant get any themes to run at all, i remember this being soo easy.
I have the latest build from the update, i have tried manually installing the themes and using the theme installer both to no effect.
The austicity theme dissapears and all i can see is the desktop image, some themes will display a few buttons etc but nothing else works....what am i doing wrong.
I sometimes also get the modules installer but installs fail everytime......
I have tried manually installing them from loose screws, copying the modules.dll to the litestep directory and the modules directory, it still says the modules are not installed?
please help as i am getting increasingly frustrated....and ready to give up

I used to be a Litestep addict but it simply doesn't compare to DesktopX.

Hmm, where to start.
Which installer did you use, and what version of windows are you running?

More info is needed ...not to mention whether you are trying to run OTS, OTS2 or non-OTS compliant themes...and mixing them all to no avail...
